Distance Learning Survey for LOSD Families
We would like to learn more about how you and your students are experiencing distance learning. Take a few minutes to complete this “touch base” survey.
Distance Learning Survey for LOSD Families
We understand students having different experiences. Please note the second half of this survey is designed to provide feedback for each student in your care. It will help inform how we support you and our teachers and staff.
Tips for Motivating Students to Learn
When students get to school, the environment triggers the them to change their focus, understanding that there are different rules and expectations. School teachers benefit from these structures as it sets up the environment for learning.
Doing schoolwork with home rules and expectations may work for some students, but not for many more. When it's time for school at home, structuring things and setting new rules and expectations differently from typical home life may help.

Message from School Counselor Drimmel
In an effort to provide emotional support for students, I have created a Request to Check-In Google form. If you have a need for counseling support, or simply would like to check in, please click on the link below, fill in the information (make sure to click submit). I will then communicate with parents/guardians to set up a virtual check-in through Google Hangouts. I look forward to connecting.

Class Placement Input for Parents / Guardians
Each spring, placement teams begin the process of developing the next year's class rosters. Placement teams take great care to consider a number of factors that contribute to the success of each child, including social, emotional, and academic factors. Teams also consider factors that lead to balanced classrooms that benefit all students, such as balancing class size, academic strengths and needs, and behavioral and work habits. Placement teams include your child's teacher, other grade level teachers, specialists, counselor, principal, and other staff knowledgeable of your child and your child's grade level peers.
If you would like to provide input to the placement team, please fill out the form by May 11th. Requests for specific teachers are not considered as a part of the placement process.
Class Placement Input for Parents / Guardians
Input may include:
- Academic, social, and/or emotional strengths and/or needs
- Instructional methods or aspects of the learning environment that benefit your child
- Goals you would like to see next year's teacher work towards with your child

- Lottery Deadline: May 1, 2020.
- Lottery Tier 1: Applicants with age-eligible siblings currently attending the same resident school will be given priority and will not go into the lottery but MUST register by the May 1 deadline.
- Lottery Tier 2: Age-eligible registrations received by May 1, 2020.

- Bus transportation will be provided for overflow students.
- Early-admission candidates must be assessed and pass the approval process. Approved early-admission students will be placed at the end of the applicant list for placement in their resident school.
- Any students who are overflowed for kindergarten will return to their home school for first grade.
