Doyon News
Friday, April 3, 2026
Dear Doyon Families,
Happy Friday! It has been such a joy to be back in the building and reconnecting with our students, teachers, and families. Thank you for your care and kind words as my family welcomed our second child - it has meant so much during this special time. When you have a moment, please take a look at the notes below for highlights from our week and a preview of upcoming school experiences.I am grateful to be part of such a special community.
Congratulations to our first and third grade musicians! The Music Showcase on Tuesday night was an exciting time to celebrate your musical achievements this year! Thank you to all of the families who joined us for this event!
We are over two-thirds of the way through the 2025-26 school year! Second trimester report cards were sent home this week and we will soon be starting to think about next year. Please see the information below about family feedback for 2026-27 classroom placements.
Coming up next week:
4th graders kick off their MCAS Testing on Monday, April 6th.
To help everyone perform at their best:
- Please make sure your child gets plenty of sleep and eats a healthy breakfast in the morning.
- Please be sure that your child arrives to school on time on testing days.
Warmly,
Mr. Whitehouse-Mullen & Mrs. Benincasa

Spring DEEP Student Registration
We are excited to share this year’s Spring DEEP Class offerings! Classes will be filled using a lottery system. We will try our best to accommodate your child's 1st, 2nd, or 3rd choice if possible. Please make sure the classes selected are ALL options your child would like to participate in. There is also an option to not make a 2nd or 3rd choice, with the understanding that your child would prefer not to participate in DEEP if they are not selected for their 1st choice.
*NEW for Spring* - We will be offering morning and afternoon DEEP classes this session! The morning classes will run from 8:00-8:30, and then students will join their peers for our usual school arrival routine. The afternoon classes will continue to be from 3:00-4:00.
Reminder - Students are only placed in ONE class per session. This means that students cannot participate in a morning and an afternoon class.
Spring DEEP Dates - Mondays 3:00-4:00 or Wednesdays 8:00-8:30 am OR 3:00 - 4:00
Monday Dates - 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18

Nurse's Notes
Hello Doyon Families!
Two quick notes regarding this week:
Please have your child dress in layers as the weather can be tricky to judge this time of year.
Also, please bring in any medication your child needs during the school day. A medication order from your child's physician is needed to administer any medication routinely. Please let me know if you have any questions.

School Safety
Curious about school safety procedures? Take a peek at the documents displayed below. These documents are shared with students at the start of the school year by Detective Joe Perna, our School Resource Officer. The documents may serve as a guide to support families in discussing school safety. As always, please be in touch with questions around school safety at the Paul F. Doyon Memorial School.
