The Final Stretch — 13 School Days to Go! The Final Stretch — 13 School Days to Go!

It is hard to believe that we are just 13 school days away from the end of the school year! While we have so much to look forward to, these final weeks are packed with important events, student assessments, and meaningful learning.

Here is how you can help set your child up for a strong finish:

⏰ Arrive on time —
Please make sure your child is at school by
8:35 AM.
Punctual arrivals help ensure your child doesn't miss a thing during these busy final weeks.

📱 Use PickUp Patrol —
All dismissal changes, absences, and tardy notifications should be submitted through PickUp Patrol. Please note that
dismissal changes must be entered by 12:00 PM.

📅 Minimize dismissal changes —
Our class schedules are packed from here to the finish line, and early dismissals can be tricky to navigate. Whenever possible, please try to keep your child for the full day.

📣 School events & sibling dismissal —
Please follow the protocols outlined below when attending school events.

School Event Dismissal Process School Event Dismissal Process

📋 Before the event: Submit any dismissal changes in PickUp Patrol — including for siblings leaving after the event.

✅ Leaving after the event? Sign your child out with the classroom teacher before you go.

🚫 Siblings are not dismissed from class to attend the event. Exceptions may be made in cases where a parent or guardian is unable to attend.

📢 One announcement only will be made at the close of the event for siblings approved for early dismissal to come to the front lobby to be signed out. We will not be calling individual classrooms.

🕑 Office pickups must be completed by 2:40 PM. Students are not dismissed to parents from the office during regular dismissal. If you are picking up as a walker, your child will be dismissed at the conclusion of parent pickup.

⚠️ Please remember: Early dismissal requires a PickUp Patrol submission in advance — we appreciate your help planning ahead!

Tick Information from the Health Office Tick Information from the Health Office

Warmer weather means ticks are back! Here are a few quick tips to keep your family safe:·

  • Perform daily tick checks
  • Avoid brushy and wooded areas when outdoors
  • Wear long sleeved, light colored shirts
  • Wear pants with your socks tucked in
  • Use insect repellent when outdoors

If you find a tick bite on you, monitor for flu like symptoms and/or a rash for up to 30 days after the tick bite. Contact your child’s pediatrician if they develop any of these symptoms after a recent tick bite or if you have any questions or concerns. Summer Reading Log — Get Reading This Summer!

MRE students entering kindergarten through 5th grade are encouraged to participate in our summer reading program. It's easy: color one sun on your reading log for every 20 minutes of reading. Kindergarten and 1st grade students can also count time being read to them.

The log has 30 suns to complete — that's just 10 hours of reading over the whole summer! Bring your completed log back during the first week of school with your student name, teacher name, and parent signature filled in, and all suns colored.

Every student who turns in a completed log will receive a small prize. Happy reading!

As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining accurate student records, we are reaching out to families who rent, lease, or reside with another family member to ensure that your residency documentation is current and on file.

If this applies to your family, we ask that you provide the following:

📄 A current, active lease agreement
📝 An updated Form B (Landlord/Landowner Affidavit)
💳 Proof of a recent lease/rent payment

Families who newly registered or provided updated documentation during this school year are all set — no action is needed!

Why does this matter?

This effort comes in response to District-wide concerns about enrollment accuracy and helps ensure every child is correctly represented.

If you have any questions or need assistance gathering the required documents, please don't hesitate to reach out. We are happy to help!

Middle School Robotics is Coming! Middle School Robotics is Coming!

Starting in Fall 2026, NRSD is thrilled to launch the Nashoba 1768 Middle School Robotics Team at each of the middle schools! Built in collaboration with our award-winning NRHS Team 1768, these teams will compete through FIRST — the same internationally recognized organization our high school team competes in today.

This exciting pilot program gives middle schoolers earlier access to hands-on engineering, programming, and teamwork — and builds a powerful pipeline from LBMS all the way to NRHS! 🚀

Next week, the district will begin collecting interest from our elementary and middle school families.

Declaring Independence: Then & Now

The Stow Historical Society will present "Declaring Independence: Then & Now" on Friday May 29th at 7 pm at Stow Town Hall. This is a public performance depicting how residents of communities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire debated the idea of declaring independence from Great Britain in 1776. The thought-provoking presentation explores what the Declaration of Independence meant to those who lived during the American Revolution and what it means to people today. The program is sponsored in conjunction with Freedom's Way National Heritage Area and will be followed by ice cream. Admission is free. Pre-registration is encouraged (so we know how much ice cream to buy!) at historystow@gmail.com. This event is made possible thanks to Freedom's Way National Heritage Area.

3rd Annual Robert H. Hawkins Memorial Golf Tournament and Gala

Rediscover Mapledale is hosting the 3rd Annual Robert H. Hawkins Memorial Golf Tournament and Gala to recognize a Black businessman and golf entrepreneur in New England, Robert H. Hawkins. Hawkins is the first African American to build, own, and operate a golf course in Massachusetts. Originally named Mapledale Country Club in 1926 when Robert H. Hawkins purchased the Randall Estate, Mapledale hosted the first three UGA “Negro National” Open Championship golf tournaments in 1926, 1927, and 1928 before closing in 1929 under the weight of the Great Depression. The golf tournament will take place on Saturday August 29th, 2026 at the Stow Acres Country Club in Stow, MA. It will be followed by the 100 years of Golf Gala, with a nineteen twenties theme that will include dinner, dancing, and entertainment! A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the United Golfers Association (UGA) and the Urban Golf Club (UGC). Please visit our website www.rediscovermapledale.org to sign up and play in this great event.
