October Newsletter
Message From the Principal
Hello Silver Firs Families!
The year is fully underway, and our Jaguars are charging into October with great focus and energy! Get ready for a month packed with learning, growth, and important school events.
Curriculum Night Success!
Thank you to all the parents and guardians who took the time to attend our recent Curriculum Night. We had a fantastic turnout, and it was wonderful to see so many of you engaged and partnering with us for your student's success. Your presence shows the strong support system our students have at home!
We hope you found the evening informative and gained a clearer understanding of the learning goals and expectations for your student’s grade level. If you weren't able to attend, please feel free to reach out to your student’s teacher with any questions you may have about the curriculum.
Key Dates and Reminders
October 7th: Picture Day
October 10th: A reminder that Friday, October 10th, is a Non-Student Day. Our entire staff will be engaging in professional development focused on Equity to ensure we continue to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all our students. Please plan accordingly.
October 24th: Trunk or Treat hosted by our SFE PTA!
November 6th: Picture Retakes
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held over two full days: Monday, November 3rd, and Tuesday, November 4th. Monday, November 3rd, will be our late-night session. This is an excellent opportunity to discuss your student’s progress, celebrate their strengths, and work together on areas for growth. Sign-up information and scheduling details will be sent out soon.
Safety Reminders
As the days get shorter and the weather changes, please remind your student(s) to be extra cautious while walking or biking to and from school. Also, please ensure they wear a bike helmet and appropriate, visible clothing for the changing weather conditions.
A friendly reminder: if you drop your student off in the mornings, please note that supervision staff starts at 9:00 AM. For your student’s safety, please do not drop them off prior to 9:00 AM.
Warm Regards,
Aleta Smoot, Principal
