Livonia PTSA Council Courier
June 2026
Thank You to All the Units for All You Do!
It's hard to believe that we wrapped up the 2025-2026 school year - it seems like just yesterday we were welcoming back students and staff and holding membership drives at open house. It's been truly remarkable to see what each unit has accomplished this year. On behalf of Council, I'd like to say THANK YOU for all of your time, creativity, passion and dedication to your respective PTA/PTSA units. As we end the year, please keep in mind that we still have a few items on our to-do lists to check off. Our annual audit party is coming up on 7/15, and once your audit is completed, you'll need to update the signers on your accounts as well as your officers in Givebacks. I hope you have a restful and relaxing summer, and it leaves you refreshed and recharged for the 2026-2027 school year!

Livonia PTSA Council President
MEMBERSHIP UPDATE
As the current year has come to an end, now is the time to focus on next year and how to earn members in the upcoming school year. Do you have a Membership Chair? Do you have a membership incentive idea? Are you planning on encouraging families to sign up at the beginning of the school year? It's never too early to start thinking about how to earn more members.
As a reminder, the funds you collect for all new members not only makes them a member of your unit's PTA/PTSA, but it also makes them a member of the Michigan PTA and National PTA. For every new member, your unit needs to submit dues, per new member, to the Michigan PTA by the 28th of that month.
Kindly,
Nicole Dant, treasurer and membership chair
PEP (PTA/PTSA Excellence Program)
Congratulations to our PEP winners for this year! Coolidge, Buchanan and Kennedy! Well done! We have already started points for next year so keep sending in your items and copying PEP for emails! Have a great summer break!

COUNCIL'S UNIT SPOTLIGHT
Buchanan Elementary
As we wrap up another wonderful school year, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible support of our school community.
The PTA was thrilled to host a successful Spring Fling, and seeing students, families, and staff come together for carnival games, food trucks, and the petting zoo was a wonderful reminder of the strong community we have built together. We are also proud to have supported memorable experiences this year including field trips, Field Day, and our 4th-grade celebration.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our PTA board members, principal, school staff, and parent volunteers for the time, energy, and care they pour into our school. Your support makes Buchanan Elementary such a special place for all students and families.
We hope everyone has a relaxing and well-deserved summer!
Cooper Upper Elementary
This year has been amazing! How are we already sending our last newsletter? We can all say we have all made so many positive influences in so many ways!
Cooper's staff is always raising the bar! We truly have the best Gold Medal Olympian staff and love spoiling them the best we can! For Staff Appreciation Week, we started Day 1 off with a Coffee and Breakfast Bar. Day 2: Taco Tuesday = Taco Bar! Day 3: Popcorn Bar; Day 4: Chicken and Pasta Bar and; Day 5 Ice Cream Sundae Bar! We love spoiling our staff!
Six Grade is a big grade for our kiddos! We had a yard sign fundraiser and families could buy yard signs congratulating them on moving up to Emerson! For the 6th Grade Send off, we treated all 300+ students with hot dogs, chips, a special drink, and Culvers custard for lunch. We gifted the student’s shirts for the exciting new adventure they have moving to a new school! After lunch, we enjoyed music, signing yearbooks, shirts, playing yard games and more! It was beautiful out!
We finished the school year with our year end picnic! First time we will have this at Cooper! We had food trucks, basket raffles, music, blow up slides, music and a splash tank!!
Again, we couldn't have done this without the amazing support of our parents and staff! We can’t wait for next year! See you all soon!
