Good Evening PTE Families!

We are so excited for our first day of school for the 2026-2027 school year! We can’t wait to see everyone bright and early tomorrow morning.

I have just a few things to go over before tomorrow morning.

Arrival and Dismissal has not changed from previous years. However, please review the links below so everyone is on the same page about expectations and procedures.

1st Day of School Drop-off

  • Due to safety and security protocols, only Kinder parents will be allowed into the building on the first day of school. Kinder parents signed up for a time with your child’s teacher.

  • We will have lots of photo opportunities for you to take of your child’s picture outside the building. You will need to get here early to take advantage of the photo opportunities.

  • We will also have lots of staff ready to escort any students to their class who may need assistance once in the building.

  • Doors will open at 7:15 am.

NOTE: Dismissal First Few Days of School

***During the first few days of school, dismissal will take longer than normal. We are all learning the new routines and making sure everyone is in the correct spot. Safety will be our #1 priority. Expect Car Riders to take at least 45 minutes, maybe longer. This will get faster. We are usually able to get car riders dismissed within 15 minutes. However, this will not be the case especially on the first day of school. Please be patient with us and plan accordingly.

We really need everyone to throw away last year's Car Tags and begin using the new car tags. If you have not been able to pick up the new car tags, we will allow you to use old car tags tomorrow only. After Tuesday, we will require everyone to without a new tag to park at the front and come inside with your ID to pick up your child.

There is so much information in this newsletter, please take some time to read it as soon as you can.

Set the Stage for Success!

Sincerely,

Wendi Vaughn

Proud Principal

🚌 Bus Rider Information - IMPORTANT! 🚌

Lewisville ISD is now controlling the transportation operations for the district. Check out the video below for details on what to expect from LISD's transportation services this school year.

Visit LISD.net/transportation for details, including downloading the StopFinder Bus app, bus stop locator and other helpful information.

If you have any question or issues regarding buses, please remember to call 469-713-5983. If you have a child that rides the bus, I highly recommend that you put this number in your contacts.

Watch the bus rider safety video for rules and expectations for all bus riders. HERE is the link for the video.

If students ride the bus home and are undeliverable due to not having an updated address in Skyward, the driver will return the student to the elementary campus as to not delay their middle & high school routes. If you have not already updated your information in Skyward, please do so ASAP! Check that you address is updated in Skyward so that your children can be assigned to the correct bus. 🚌

Lunch Visitors - Start September 8th

  • You can drop off a lunch for your child any day.
  • If you are dropping off a lunch in the front office, please label and let your child’s teacher know.
  • Parents/guardians may begin eating lunch with their child on September 8, 2026.
  • Bring a photo ID and ensure you are listed in Skyward.
  • If a friend/family member is coming instead, please give prior permission to the front office.
  • Students enjoy an occasional lunch visitor, but it is also important for them to have routine opportunities to have lunch with their friends. We ask that lunch visits are limited to once per week.

Back to School Forms

Back to School Forms are now available for returning families to fill out!

You will fill these out in Skyward Q. If you missed it or can't find it, I have linked the website with more information for you below.

Each year, families must complete back to school forms that include permissions for district technology use, updated health information, acknowledgement of the Student Handbook and Code of Conduct, and updates to other important information so the district is able to stay in contact with families and support student needs.

These forms are available in the Skyward Q Family Access account. If a student has multiple families attached to their account, only the Family 1 parent or guardian can access the forms.

This RESOURCE may help with getting to the forms.

As always, please don't hesitate to email prairietrailattendance@lisd.net, call our office, 469-713-5980, or stop by. We have people ready to help you.
