Holy Rosary
NEWSLETTER | TERM 4| WEEK 8| 5TH DEC 2025
For Catholics, Advent is a season of preparation and hope. It begins four Sundays before Christmas and invites us to reflect on the coming of Jesus—both His birth in Bethlehem and His promised return. Advent is marked by themes of waiting, joy, and light, reminding us that Christmas is not just about celebration but about welcoming Christ into our hearts and homes.
Advent Prayer
Loving God, as we prepare for the coming of Your Son, fill our hearts with hope, peace, joy, and love. Help us to welcome Christ into our lives and share His light with others this Christmas. Amen.
Dear Parents, Friends, Guardians and Staff,
It was wonderful to watch our Pre-Kindy students’ Christmas concert today! A huge thank you to Mrs Peel, Mrs Bryant, Mrs Kirwan, and all who worked so hard to prepare the students for such a joyful performance.
This Tuesday, we warmly invite all families to join us for our Kindy to Year 6 Christmas Concert. It promises to be a beautiful celebration of the season, and we look forward to seeing you there.
Balanced Classrooms for 2026:
Our staff have invested extensive effort to create balanced classrooms for next year, considering both academic and social-emotional needs of every student. This careful planning ensures that each child is placed in an environment where they can thrive.
Annual General Community Meeting:
Thank you to everyone who attended our AGCM. It was a fantastic opportunity to share the co-constructed Strategic Plan for our school. Your input and engagement are invaluable as we shape the future together.
Full reports from the meeting can be accessed on our school website.
School Advisory Committee:
We had an extremely capable and competitive field of nominees this year. Congratulations to:
- Chris Smoje
- Courtney McLeod
- Anna Moilin
We also extend our sincere thanks to Peter Coppini for his dedicated service to the committee.
Celebrating Renate Field:
This year, we celebrate Renate Field for an incredible 15 years of service to our school community as she will be retiring at the end of this year. Renate’s commitment, energy, and generosity have enriched countless school events and initiatives. Her contribution has helped strengthen the bonds within our community, and we are deeply grateful for her unwavering support.

Fr Andrew warmly invites all children attending the 6pm Family Mass on Christmas Eve to come dressed as angels, shepherds, kings, or even nativity animals such as sheep, donkeys, goats, or camels.
Please arrive 10 minutes before Mass so the children can take part in the entrance procession with Fr Andrew.
We look forward to seeing you there in your costumes.
Canteen Update
Our recent canteen trial has now concluded, and we extend our thanks to Healthy Kids Canteen for their efforts during this period.
After careful deliberation by the School Advisory Committee and in response to community feedback, we will move forward in 2026 using Lunch Box Hub exclusively for canteen services.
Additionally, to ensure compliance with the School Canteen Traffic Light Guidelines, all ice creams will be reviewed, and their availability adjusted to meet health standards.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to provide healthy and enjoyable options for our students.

No Lunch Orders Monday 8th December
The Healthy Kids Canteen will be closed on Monday, 8th December. Please make alternative arrangements for your child’s lunch on that day. Thank you.
Give Write donations
We welcome our school community to drop off any unwanted stationery or school supplies at reception. Give Write collects, refreshes, and redistributes surplus materials to students who need them - supporting learning while keeping usable items out of landfill. Every pencil, pen, and notebook truly counts!
Have spare pens, folders, or notebooks at home? Your donated items will be repurposed and passed on to students who can put them to good use. It’s an easy way to make a meaningful difference. Let’s clear out those drawers and pencil cases and help others get ready to learn!
Please refer to the photo below for guidance on what items can and cannot be donated.
Thank you!
2026 Booklists
As we approach the last, busy, fabulous week at Holy Rosary, it is super important that all books are returned by Monday. These books are now 3 weeks overdue. Some books are parts of series, some are favourites and some are hard to purchase, so I thank you for your commitment in looking for these books at home and returning or purchasing them before students attend Big Day Out on Wednesday.
Students who take their iPads home, can continue to access eBooks over the holidays (password for everyone is HRBOOKS). The background, font and spacing can be adapted to suit student reading needs.
A reminder about the wonderful public libraries we have in our local communities. There are some great things happening over the holidays and it is a positive way to keep your children reading. Check out the Lego stop motion workshops happening within the City of Stirling libraries.

Finally, a huge thank you to my amazing 2025 Library Monitors Remy, Daniella, Alicia, Elliott, Max and Andrew. You have been an incredible help in a very busy year, and I will miss you so much! You are ready for high school and the world!
Mrs Butson
“I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach.”
― Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol
Thank you to our very generous community for the donations for the Vinnies Christmas Hampers. The Year 6 Council Groups have done a wonderful job of organising the Vinnies donations, getting the sunflowers ready in the Veritas Garden and arranging the super fun staff vs students basketball game today in the gym. These events encourage belonging while recognising the importance of community spirit and volunteering.
It was wonderful to see all the students enjoying their transition day. For our year 6 students moving to high school, these nerves may be a little more challenging. A reminder about Maggie Dent’s parent workshop at Newman College on Saturday morning 13th December.
There is also a free online parenting course

Have a lovely weekend and last week of term,
