Methacton Matters
October 2025
Video of the Month
This month, I visited Skyview Upper Elementary School to check in on their thriving PBIS program. PBIS, which stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, aims to improve the overall climate of our school and lay a foundation for building relationships with students that will pay dividends in the future. Skyview piloted the program for Methacton last year and is now in the second year of implementation. All of our other schools, K-8, have launched their PBIS programs this year, following the success of Skyview.
Watch the video below to learn more about PBIS from Skyview Principal Dr. Nicole Berical, Ms. Bigler, and students Reagan and Drew.

Living Our Values
Students Lead the Way in New 'Community Cares' Initiative
Methacton High School students are taking the lead in fostering positive change through the district’s new Community Cares program — a collaborative initiative with Mission Kids and PA Representative Joe Webster’s Office. On September 29, the first group of student leaders visited Skyview Upper Elementary and Arcola Intermediate School to present on cyber safety and online bullying, marking the launch of this impactful peer-to-peer mentorship program. Designed to teach essential life lessons that go beyond the classroom, Community Cares connects 11th and 12th grade mentors with 6th and 7th grade students through meaningful discussions and guided activities. By pairing high school and middle school students, it creates a sense of mutual respect and teamwork across age groups, reinforcing the idea that everyone has a role in supporting the Methacton community.

Methacton Stands United Against Bullying
I was so proud to see all of the orange across Methacton on October 22 for Unity Day! Across all seven schools and our various administrative offices, students and staff proudly displayed their orange while actively demonstrating kindness, inclusion, and respect. Through unity walks, powerful sidewalk chalk messages, and heartfelt conversations, our Methacton community showed its commitment to fostering empathy and connection.
Community Connections
Coffee Chats Return for the New Year!
This year, I'm taking my Coffee Chats to the heart of our mission - our students! I joined students from Methacton High School for breakfast and students from Arcola Intermediate School for lunch for vibrant conversations about the high school renovation plans and the use of AI among teachers and students. I was impressed by their insightful questions and comments and look forward to staying engaged with them on these important topics throughout the year.
Worcester Students Fired Up for Safety!
Thank you to the Worcester Fire Department for their hands-on safety demonstration at Worcester Elementary! Students enjoyed a hands-on safety lesson with the local fire department, learning how to “Stop, Drop, and Roll” and make effective 9-1-1 calls. The visit ended with an exciting fire truck and hose demonstration. Thanks to our local first responders for teaching our students valuable, life-saving skills!
Supporting Wellness: Health Events Serve Our Community
Methacton's nursing staff organized two health events this month to support wellness in our community. On October 9, the district partnered with Skippack Pharmacy for a COVID-19 and Flu vaccine clinic, providing over 150 vaccinations to the community.
On October 23, the nursing staff, student volunteers, and the American Red Cross held a blood drive where they successfully collected over 100 units of blood, which could potentially save up to 318 lives. Thank you to all of the students, staff and community members who donated and supported this event.
Mark your calendars: the next Methacton Community Blood Drive will be February 26!
Methacton has been proudly hosting the American Red Cross for student blood drives since the late 1980s—that's over 36 years of saving lives! Way to go, Methacton!
