Parenting Tips: Connection Versus Correction Approach
Are you ready for a parenting tip that may change the way you correct your child’s behaviors?
Connection over correction is an approach to parenting that has to do with being able to guide your child in a positive manner without sacrificing their autonomy and individuality.
The human brain is designed to work in good relationships. Good relationships help children develop properly on the cognitive, emotional, social, behavioral, and biological level.
When you CONNECT with your child this way, CORRECTION or consequences of their behavior might not even be needed.
It is the connection between the parent and child that is central to development, not the corrections that are applied.
