From the School Nurse

Just a reminder, if your child has medication in the health office that needs to be taken home at the end of the school year, please make arrangements with me to come in and pick it up. Children are not allowed to transport medication home.

Physical Examinations Incoming 4th grade students

Your son/daughter is scheduled to have a school health examination for the next school year. Massachusetts’s law requires a health examination four times in a student’s school life. These exams are done upon entrance to kindergarten, fourth, seventh and tenth grades. Because your child’s physician has a comprehensive knowledge of your child’s health, we recommend that he/she perform the examination.

The exam forms are available on the school website at www.wbridgewaterschools.com (click on Health Services) or your physician may use his/her own form. The form should be completed and returned to the school nurse at the Howard School before the end of December 2023.

If you have any questions, please contact me at (508) 894-1240 or Margaret Linksey at (508) 894-1250.

Water only in Class

We have seen an increase of students bringing in all types of drinks (hot chocolate, Dunkin, energy drinks) into school in the morning. These drinks are not allowed in the classroom, as they can make a mess if spilled, a distraction to the learning process and most importantly dangerous to students with allergies. Please be sure your child finished these drinks in the car before entering school. Thank you!

Grade 3 Morning Broadcasters!

Our third grade students have been volunteering to run our morning announcement routine! A third grader comes down each day, Tuesday through Friday and greets the school, does the Pledge of Allegiance, announces student birthdays and reports any important information. We are lucky to have such confident and helpful students!

Box Tops

News from Student Council:

Win a ride to school in a fire truck! - Flyers went home yesterday or today for a fundraiser we are hosting in partnership with our Fire Department. Raffle tickets sales are on sale for just one week - so act fast! Please print the flyer here if you missed it at home!

Box Tops for Education - As of today, our community has raised over $240 for our school. We only have now and half months to go to try to reach our goal of $500 before the end of the school year (June 30th)! Download the app and remember to scan all on your PAPER and DIGITAL receipts from ANY grocery store (Target, Staples, CVS, Walmart, BJ's Wholesale Club, and more)! Spread the word with your families, too.

To share how quick and easy it is, please watch the video below. Mrs. Enos was able to scan a grocery receipt and complete the entire process on the BTFE app in about 60 seconds while talking to three kids and trying to distract the family dog!
