Need to Know - SNAP & Medicaid Changes
- HR 1 made several changes and cuts to both SNAP and Medicaid
- Work requirements, more frequent reporting requirements, the increase in age for adults who must work, and the loss of exemptions for former foster youth and people experiencing homelessness have resulted in thousands of households losing these benefits
- Changes have also impacted many immigrants and humanitarian paroled households who were previously eligible for benefits but are no longer eligible for them
- You may see a reduction in access to health care and food for students and families
