WRJH- Welcome back 25/26 SY
August 2025
Mr. Phillips Message
Hello WRJH Families!
I hope everyone had a great summer and is looking forward to starting the year next week. Our staff is hard at work getting ready to open the building on Wednesday. I am so excited for this year and know we will have an amazing year! We have a lot of new staff, but that is because we are growing. There will be some minor changes, but for the most part if you were here last year, you will find stability and consistent practice to provide the best experience we can for each student!
As you know, we are very full as a building, but we have been preparing and working to ensure that when every teacher shuts their door to start working with your students, they have an amazing experience. Please have conversations with your students about your expectations of their behavior in a building that has crowded hallways, cafeteria, drop off/pick up, as these are the times where students tend to have negative interactions and misunderstandings that lead to conflicts.
We are working to challenge our students to reach new levels of academic achievement this year. I believe that our students have the potential to lead central Ohio in their abilities and academic success, but this means they will be pushed in ways that are not always the most comfortable for them. If you students start to feel like they are falling behind or are becoming frustrated with learning, please reach out to our teachers to discuss ways for us to work together and support our amazing kids. We are partners and together we can provide the best education possible!
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the building or myself as we want everyone to get off to a good and positive start of the year!
Thanks
Principal Phillips

Cell Phone Policy
Cell Phone/Personal Electronic Device policy: Students must turn off and keep their devices put away throughout the day. Including headphones, tablets, earbuds etc. Here are procedures: If it is out, the student will be asked to put the device away. If the device comes out a second time or the student refuses, the student will be asked to put the device on the teacher's desk until the end of class. If the student refuses to put the device on the desk until the end of the period, administration will come and remove the device to the office. The student will be able to pick up the device at the end of the day. If the student argues and refuses with administration, the student will be brought to the office and will receive consequences for insubordination. We have a dedicated office phone that students can use when needed as long as they do not abuse this. Additionally, if you call the office we will call down students or take messages for you to reach your students. Please understand that cell phones and personal electronic devices have become a massive distraction for our students and negatively impact their learning, so we are trying to focus on our students being in a position to be successful with this policy.
Thank you
