Secondary Summer Curriculum Writing

Teachers from 6th thru 12th grade came together in late July, from all content areas to write curriculum and fine tune what they had worked on throughout the school year. Thank you to all who contributed to this very useful tool that will be used throughout our District.

AVID Summer Institute

The Summer Institute Site Team sessions were designed to enable school teams to plan for the growth of the AVID College Readiness System at the schools, whether their primary focus in the secondary AVID Elective or broader school wide impact. During Site Team sessions, all participants will engage with resources designed to help them develop goals, monitor progress, and sustain their commitments when they return to their campus. Thank you to all participants in helping make this a success.

AVID Institute Workshop

The NMSI Laying the Foundation Middle School English workshop consisted of four days at Karen Wagner High School. Teachers focused on key concepts in the pursuit of student success: rigor, text complexity, creating text/based responses, and moving beyond the text. We have been busily working on Staff Development for August 2018, and are exciting about the great sessions we have planned. We look forward to seeing everyone return along with meeting all the new staff members of SISD. Sessions will be published in Eduphoria as soon as all is confirmed.
