Hoben Family Connection
Together we strive for a better hive! October 11, 2026
Fall Fest Is Coming!
Our Annual Fall Fest is just around the corner, and we'd love your help making it a success! A flyer went home from our Hoben PTO with all the details — we're looking for candy donations, trunk volunteers, and helpers to run games.
Every bit of help makes a difference! Please sign up HERE.
Thank you for supporting this fun Hoben tradition!
New NWEA Family report will be posted in Mistar on Friday 10/16
Word of the Month: HONESTY!
Our Word of the Month for October is HONESTY — being true in what you say and do!
Each month, we'll highlight a word that connects to what we believe in at Hoben:
- Help Others
- Own our Choices
- Be our Best Self
- Enthusiastic About Learning
- Never Give Up
Talk with your child about what honesty looks like at home — telling the truth even when it's hard, keeping promises, and doing the right thing even when no one is watching!
Halloween Parade — Friday, October 30th at 11:00 a.m.
Our annual Halloween parade is on! Weather permitting, we'll parade outdoors — families are welcome to watch from the perimeter of the playground. No need to check in at the office unless you're entering the building.
If it's raining, we'll move the parade indoors, and unfortunately we won't be able to accommodate spectators in that case.
Please note:
- If weather forces us to cancel the outdoor parade, we'll let families know by Thursday evening via email.
Halloween Costumes — Friday, October 30th
Students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to school on Friday, October 30th! A few guidelines to keep our celebration fun and safe for everyone:
- Costumes should be fun, not gory — please save the scary stuff for trick-or-treating!
- No fake weapons of any kind (this includes costume accessories like swords, knives, or blasters).
Thank you for helping us keep the day festive and friendly for all of our Hive students!
