Message from the Board of Education
September 4, 2026
Dear Forest Park caregivers,
As we begin the school year together, we want to keep you informed about the process underway to select D91’s next superintendent. The Board of Education is partnering with the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) to lead a thoughtful and thorough search to identify the best candidate to lead D91 forward.
The position has been posted, and the next step is hearing from our community.
From September 4-18, IASB will gather feedback from students, staff, families, community members, and the Board. All D91 caregivers have the opportunity to provide feedback through a survey, available by link and QR code below. The survey includes questions about D91’s needs, priorities, and the qualities you want to see in our next superintendent.
Your feedback will help IASB develop a leadership profile which will be shared on the district website. It will also be used to guide the candidate review process. The Board is expected to begin interviews in November, appoint the next superintendent in December, and welcome the selected candidate on July 1, 2027.
While the search will continue throughout the fall, our focus remains on supporting our students, families, staff, and schools throughout the 2026-27 school year. Taking the time to gather community feedback, carefully review candidates, and conduct multiple rounds of interviews will help the Board make an informed decision about D91’s leadership.
We appreciate your partnership and encourage you to take part in this important process by sharing your feedback beginning today, September 4. Your voice matters as we help shape the future of D91.
Sincerely,
Mr. Steve Rummel
D91 Board of Education President
