PVE Family Materials Collection

Thursday, 5/21 & Friday, 5/22

PVE FamilyMaterials CollectionThursday, 5/21 & Friday, 5/22

Dear PVE Families,

As the year draws to a close, we want to provide families with the opportunity to pick up any belongings that remain in the school building since our March closure. In order to successfully return items to families in a way that maintains the government safety guidance, we will be facilitating a curbside pick-up line on Thursday, May 21st and Friday, May 22nd. Please take time to carefully read the details housed in this message for curbside pick-up of materials.

PLEASE NOTE: No materials will be released to friends or others outside of the student's family. Please do not ask staff to collect belongings for students outside of your household. In addition, please drive your vehicle to school and refrain from walking or biking during this process. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Timeline

Please refer to the table below to find your designated time to pick up your child's materials.
  • Based on the initial of your child's last time, please arrive during your designated 30-minute time slot to pick up your child's belongings.
  • Adhering to this schedule as tightly as possible is greatly appreciated as it will assist with both safety and efficiency in dispersing student materials with rightful students.

Important Details and Instructions

Please note the following important details regarding materials collection at Pleasant View Elementary.

  • Ahead of the pick-up day, teachers will pack up student materials and label them accordingly. No families will be allowed in the school building. Rather, student materials will be ready for you upon your arrival at the school during your designated times.
  • Pick up will occur along the sidewalk in front of Doors 10-14, with cones to designate "drive-up service" spaces. Please see the map for traffic flow.
  • Please have student last name clearly & boldly written on paper in the front window/dashboard so that staff can easily read when approaching the vehicle. If you have your car rider template, you are welcome to use that. If not, please use a marker to write your child's last name in large font.
  • We will have cones located our front sidewalk between doors 10-14. Families will pull their vehicle forward to the next available cone where they will be greeted by a PVE staff member.
  • Remain in your vehicle. A PVE staff member will retrieve and deliver your child's belongings to your vehicle. You can “pop the trunk” and have them place inside, or staff can hand off your items through an open window or door. Again, please remain in your cars throughout the pick-up process. This will help to increase the safety, speed, and efficiency of the pick-up line while maintaining physical distancing guidelines.
  • If your child ordered a yearbook, it will be included with their personal items.
  • Start gathering those library books! This is also an opportunity to drop-off any library books or other school materials that need to be returned. If you are returning an item that belongs to a classroom teacher, please put a note on the item with that staff member's name.
  • If you have student medication to pick-up from our clinic, one of our PVE nurses will be in communication with you this week. We will deliver your medication to your vehicle on your assigned material pick-up day (5/21 or 5/22).

Student Material Pick-Up

Please stay in you car during the entire pick-up process.

  • Before you come to school, please put your car rider template or other piece of paper with your student's last name on the dashboard of your passenger side window for easy viewing. Please also collect any library books or other materials that need to be returned to school.
  • Operate your vehicle with increased care and awareness when driving in the vicinity of our school, and please refrain from using your phone during this time.
  • Please do not pull around other cars, but instead wait patiently for the line to move naturally as materials are both retrieved and delivered by our PVE staff.
  • Please refer to the map below to ensure you are following set traffice patterns.

Coming Soon....PVE Staff Car Parade on Tuesday, May 19th!

As noted in Dr. Robison's message yesterday, the PVE staff and faculty will be traveling in a "teacher/staff parade" on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 19th beginning at 1:00 until approximately 3:00. Get ready to welcome us with noise, signs, and other forms of socially-distanced hoopla! More information about our route will be coming soon. While we won't be able to pass every home, we will drive through the areas most densely populated by PVE students. If you are not on the route, we invite you to park safely somewhere along our published path so you can join in the fun!
