Wildcat Weekly; 10/5-10/9

Message from Mrs. LeMaster 🐾
Dear Pomerado Families,
Happy October! This week, we celebrated the final week of Attendance Awareness Month! To celebrate, we surprised each classroom with a pinata. It was definitely a fun day to be a principal! Thank you for your support in getting your children to school every day, on time.
I also want to remind everyone about our front parking lot expectations. The front parking lot is one way. Please enter near the roundabout and exit by the Walker Gate.
Before and after school, the front parking lot is not for student pick-up or drop-off. The only vehicles that should be stopped along the front curb are those with a special orange parking pass. Please also follow the directions of our Safety Patrol students if they ask you not to enter the lot. They are helping us keep traffic moving and, most importantly, keeping our students safe.
We have also noticed several cars parking along the red curbs on Ninth Street. Please be aware that parking in these areas is illegal and may result in a ticket if law enforcement is present.
Thank you for helping us follow our parking lot expectations and for doing your part to keep ALL of our Wildcats safe! 🐾
With gratitude,
Lauren LeMaster
Attendance Awareness Month- Wrap Up
What a fun month it has been! We’ve loved celebrating Attendance Awareness Month with our Wildcats, including some special Surprise Attendance Days!
Throughout the month, we’ve shared helpful reminders about the many pieces of attendance, including ParentVUE digital attendance reporting, OCIS contracts, excused vs. unexcused absences, and the importance of arriving at school on time and ready to learn.
A quick reminder: Reporting an absence does not automatically make it excused. California law determines which absences qualify as excused, and all absences—excused or unexcused—count toward chronic absenteeism. Our attached letter has more information about excused absences, make-up work, and grading.

Thank you for partnering with us! Let’s keep the momentum going and help our Wildcats continue to be Attendance H.E.R.O.s — Here. Every day. Ready. On-time!
