Week of February 2, 2025 Week of February 2, 2025

Good Evening Tigers,

This is Noel Keener, the proud principal of Ragsdale High, with this week's updates.

We have so many exceptional Ragsdale students. We can't always shout them all out, but here are a few from this week! Nuriya Bobbo, Jalen Graves, Andrew Murphey, and Destini Rentz have been named Students of the Week and Marlei Williams has been named our Athlete of the Week. Damaris Caesar, Mila Halloway, and Joss McKay who were at All District Band this weekend! TIGER EXCELLENCE IN ACTION!

We had a great first week of second semester, and we are already jumping into instruction with both feet. We have made all the adjustments we can to schedules. Students there will be no more adjustments. Spring sports are on the way! Workouts are happening now! See Coach Jones if you have any questions.

Next week is Counselor Appreciation Week. We will be celebrating our team! Please be sure and show our counselors the love this week! February also kicks off Black History Month. This month we will be highlighting and celebrating the accomplishments, perseverance, impact of African Americans through a variety of activities inside and outside the classroom.

Monday we will have a PTSA Meeting starting at 5:45 and an Athletic Booster Club meeting starting at 6:30. All are welcome.

We will have two Parent Engagement nights this month, so please mark your calendars! On February 19th we will host parents of our current 9th graders. The next week on February 26th we will host parents of our current 10th and 11th graders. These events will be 5:15-7:00.

Thank you , have a great week, and, as always, TIGER PRIDE!

Athletics Athletics

Athlete of the Week

Ragsdale High School Athletics is proud to announce that Marlei Williams has been named our Athlete of the Week. Marlei, a sophomore on the women’s basketball team, has made a significant impact on the court as a two-year starter.

In a recent conference match against Page High School, Marlei delivered an outstanding performance, recording a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. She showcased her impressive shooting ability by hitting 67% of her two-point shots from the floor.

Head coach Ren Stewart praised Marlei’s dedication and growth, stating, “Marlei continues to grow every day in her basketball skills as well as her knowledge of the game. She is an exceptional student-athlete who takes her studies seriously. Marlei is a very humble player that gives 100% every time on and off the court. She shows excellent sportsmanship and does not let mistakes affect her game; she continues to give her all and keeps playing. I’m very proud of the effort Marlei has put into her basketball season as she continues to grow and become a future leader.”

Congratulations to Marlei Williams on this well-deserved recognition! We look forward to seeing her continue to excel both on the court and in her academic pursuits.
