Summer Street Counselor Corner
with Ms.Hunt
Welcome SSS Stars!
It is hard to believe that summer has finally come to an end! I hope you all are returning refreshed, relaxed, and ready to learn! Welcome back to our returning friends and welcome to our newest friends! We are excited to have everyone back in the building for another year full of learning and fun!
My name is Heather Hunt and I am the School Adjustment Counselor at SSS. This is my fourth year at SSS and I am happy to be back! I am a master's level clinician who works closely with teachers to help support students here in the building who are struggling to meet their SEL needs.
My goal is to help every student feel happy, safe, and ready to learn! If your child is in need of support, the first step is to reach out to their teacher. From there, we will work together to explore ways to best help your child.
Be on the lookout for monthly SEL newsletters with articles, information, and resources for students and families throughout this school year. I look forward to seeing all of our returning students and meeting our new friends who are joining SSS!

Lynn Lyons Podcast on Back to School
Lynn Lyons is an international speaker and psychotherapist based in Concord, New Hampshire who helps children and families manage anxiety disorders. In this podcast, Lynn discusses the back to school season and what parents can do to support their children during this time. This includes learning to let a child fail and what the difference is between failing and "drowning" in school and in life. While this episode is from last year, the information is still relevant today as we prepare for back to school.
