March School Board Approvals
- Approval of the Certification of Unopposed Candidates for the May 2, 2026, School Board Trustee Election
- Approval of the Order of Cancellation for the May 2, 2026, School Board Election
This month’s Mission Moment comes from Caroline Haley, a fifth-grade student at Stonewall Elementary, recognizing Mrs. Jennifer Moreno, Art and Music teacher.
Mrs. Moreno is a staff member who wears many hats, bringing creativity, consistency, and high expectations into every space she serves. Her impact reaches beyond the classroom, shaping the way students see themselves and what they are capable of.
Caroline shared:
“She inspires me by the way she lives, the way she treats people, and the way she shows up.”
It’s a simple statement—but a powerful one.
This is what our mission looks like in action. Staff who lead by example, build strong relationships, and inspire students to be their best every day.

Student Representative Update
Our student representative, Ellie Tatsch, provided an update on what’s happening across our campuses, highlighting a strong return from spring break with students refreshed and ready for the weeks ahead.
At Fredericksburg Primary School, the focus has shifted into registration season as campuses begin preparing for the upcoming school year. Students are also looking forward to Rodeo Day this Friday—a favorite tradition. And in true Fredericksburg fashion, there’s even been an open invitation extended to George Strait.
At Fredericksburg Middle School, the community is invited to attend the Open House this weekend. Families will have the opportunity to walk the new campus and enjoy a theater production, showcasing both the facility and student talent.
Across the district, spring activities are in full swing. Athletics continue to compete at a high level, with Boys Soccer advancing into the playoffs, while students across all campuses are also preparing for upcoming testing.
High School Update
Chris Weirich, Principal of Fredericksburg High School, opened his update with a message of pride and appreciation for the students being served each day. He emphasized that the Profile of a Billie Graduate continues to guide the work happening across campus—ensuring students are gaining meaningful experiences with real-world relevance and strong community connections.
Mr. Weirich also recognized the role our community plays in supporting students and programs, noting the impact of partnerships and continued investment in student success.
An important operational update shared was the noticeable reduction in discipline following the removal of cell phones during instructional time. With fewer distractions, students are more engaged in class, and teachers are able to focus on instruction and encouraging student growth.
He closed by reinforcing the impact of the work taking place at Fredericksburg High School:
“Students within our classrooms are not only college, career, and military ready—but they are life ready.”
Bond Tour, Video, and Presentations
Interim Superintendent Dr. Ann Dixon’s update focused on providing the community with clear opportunities to learn more about Bond 2026—through questions, information, and firsthand experiences.
We encourage you to start by watching the Bond informational video included below. It outlines the proposal and the planning process that led to this point.
The school district will also open Fredericksburg High School for presentations and guided tours, giving community members the opportunity to see the campus and ask questions directly:
Location: Fredericksburg High School Library
- April 10 – 5:00 p.m.
- April 11 – 8:00 a.m. & 2:00 p.m.
- April 12 – 2:00 p.m.
One question raised during the meeting addressed the $7.9 million in remaining 2022 bond funds and how those dollars will be used. These funds remain committed to the projects originally shared with the community. If the bond passes, they will continue to support planned improvements, including Career & Technical Education (CTE) and the weight room improvements.
Questions like this matter. They help ensure our community stays informed and that the school district continues to operate with transparency and accountability.
