A Message From Your Principal
Dear Eames Way Families,
What a spirited and "lucky" week we have had here at Eames Way! The halls have been filled with a little extra magic as we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day. I particularly want to recognize our creative Kindergarten engineers who worked diligently to design and construct elaborate leprechaun traps; while the leprechauns may have proven too elusive to catch this year, the ingenuity, teamwork, and sheer imagination displayed in those traps were truly impressive and they came so very close!
We also owe a massive thank you to our incredible PTO for treating the staff to a "SOUP-er Monday" Lunch. On a cold and dreary March day, there was nothing better than the wide variety of warm, delicious soups you provided, and it was a wonderful morale boost for our entire team. We are constantly reminded of how lucky we are to have such a supportive community, and we thank you for the way you love and take care of us.
Looking ahead, please remember that Trimester II Report Cards will be published this Friday, March 20, for families to view via the Aspen Parent Portal. Additionally, our Trimester II Conference sign-ups are currently up and running, and we are looking forward to meeting with you next week to discuss your child's progress.
Finally, we are excited to celebrate "World Down Syndrome Day" tomorrow! We invite all students and staff to rock their most colorful mismatched socks to help raise awareness and celebrate the unique qualities that make our community so wonderful.
Thank you for reading and have a wonderful weekend,
Ms. Bishop
Principal

Nurse Update
We want to be able to send students outside for recess (weather permitting) for as long as possible during the winter months. Please be sure students dress in layers for school- they need warm weather gear for outdoor play even when the inside temperature is warm. If students do not have appropriate cold weather/snow gear(coats, snowpants, hats, mittens/gloves, boots) their outside activities may be somewhat limited so they stay warm and safe.
If you wear your boots to school, do not forget to pack your sneakers for Physical Education class!
A change of dry clothing(socks, pants and shoes) in backpacks are encouraged and keep students comfortable after snowy recess play.
Please remember to send students to school with a refillable water bottle. Hydration will help with dry skin and chapped lips.
Here are a few tips to stay healthy and stop the spread this winter season:
We are seeing an increase in the number of coughs, colds, runny noses, and fevers. If your child still seems tired, pale, with little appetite, not tolerating solid foods, and generally “not themselves”, PLEASE DO NOT send them to school. Some Viral illnesses may take longer before your child is well enough to return to school.
Keep your child home from school if they have a fever, especially in combination with a cough, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, congestion, runny nose, or sore throat. They should remain home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications.
Keep your child home from school for 24 hours if they have nausea, vomiting or diarrhea(return when tolerating a normal diet).
Keep your child home for 24 hours after receiving medication(such as antibiotics or eye ointments) for treatment of illness/infection.
Lunch Menu & Nutrition Update
Ice cream will be available for purchase on Fridays starting October 10th!
Breakfast and lunch are free options to all students for the 2025-2026 school year. Please note, breakfast is available upon arrival from 8:35-8:50 am, however, students can also get breakfast during the morning once the school day starts if they skipped breakfast or forgot their snack. For more information, please visit MPSD School Nutrition.
My School Bucks is an online account for families to easily manage and pay for school meals, a la carte items (such as ice cream), etc. These accounts stay with students throughout grades K-12 and funds can be replenished when balances get low. Here's the information from the MPSD Nutrition webpage on how to set up your account - My School Bucks.

Volunteering at EWS
CORI applications need to be redone every few years and we are currently in a three-year cycle covering 2023-2026. All volunteers need to complete a CORI, even if you were approved prior to 2023. Please visit the Front Office to complete a CORI application and provide a copy of your license - it will only take a minutes. Applications are then reviewed by MPSD Central Office, which can take up to a week to process. If you have any questions, please contact Val Quigley (781-834-5090 or vquigley@mpsd.org).
However, to clarify, if you have an approved CORI from last year, it is still valid for this school year!
