MS Students Take Center Stage During The Sound of Music Performance
MS Students were able to enjoy the songs, costumes, actors, and the entertainment of Lyric Theatre’s The Sound of Music Interactive tour for 2024-25. The cast takes the audience through a ‘best of’ journey of the musical The Sound of Music as well as educating about the art of Musical Theatre. We thank Mr. Gilmore for setting this up for our students!
Mrs. Thomas Honored by Peers with Golden Apple Award!
What makes this award unique is that a teacher has to be nominated by a colleague to be considered. There is no rubric and no specific requirements for this award. Teachers are asked to nominate a peer who, not only takes care of his/her classroom, but also finds time to help his/her colleagues or to show struggling students a little extra support. Mrs. Thomas was chosen by her peers as someone who makes GMS a better place just by her presence. She goes above and beyond for her students and her colleagues. Thank you, Mrs. Thomas for being AWESOME!!
Pumpkin Pie in a Bag!
Wrapping up the Non-Fiction unit with a fun and tasty activity in Mrs. Laverty's class—Pumpkin Pie in a Bag! Students practiced sequential order by following a recipe step by step. The results? A delicious reminder that attention to detail pays off—some pies definitely turned out better than others!

GMS Students Celebrated Red Ribbon Week (Oct 28-30th)
Mrs. Goldner coordinated a week of awareness and compassion as our students celebrated a drug-free and bullying-free community. The participation by students and teachers was outstanding. Thank you, Mrs. Goldner for an ALL STAR performance!!
Good Attendance Pays Off!
Semester tests will be given at the end of each semester. The policy states that students
will be exempt from taking semester tests if they meet the following criteria in a class:
Grade/ Absences
A/ 3 or fewer
B/ 2 or fewer
C/ 1 or fewer
All students with a grade of D or F must take semester tests. School activity absences are
the only absences that do not count against the student, or disqualify them from a
semester test exemption. Students that enter the district after the first nine weeks of the
semester do not qualify for exemptions.
The Ridgy Way!
Student behavior at GMS is centered around The Ridgy Way; students will be responsible, be respectful, and be safe.
