JLA Weekly Family Update
Week of October 5
Dear Joyful Learning Academy Families,
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Hispanic Cultural Appreciation Day on Friday! It was wonderful to see our students celebrating as they learned about new countries, traditions, and the richness of Hispanic culture.
This week, we are excited to celebrate Georgia Pre-K Week! We have some fun and engaging activities planned throughout the week to celebrate our youngest learners and all the wonderful learning happening at Joyful Learning Academy.
As a reminder, Fall Break is October 12–16, and there will be no school during this time. We hope our JLA families enjoy a safe, restful, and refreshing break!
Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to another wonderful week of learning, growing, and making joyful memories together!
Warmly,
Tracy Clarke

Please save the attached flyer and mark your calendars so you don't miss any of the fun!
Week Ahead:
10/5-9 Ga Pre-K Week
10/5 Pre-K is a BIG deal! Wear bright colors.
10/8 When I Grow Up... Dress as something you want to be.
Small Moments, Big Learning
This Week’s Tip: Practice Independence
Give your child opportunities to do age-appropriate tasks independently—putting on their shoes, carrying their backpack, opening containers, or cleaning up toys. It may take a little longer, but these small opportunities build confidence, responsibility, and important self-help skills!
Remember: Sometimes the best way to help your child is to give them the time and space to try it themselves. Celebrate the effort, not just the outcome!
Weekly Reminders
As we head into another exciting week, here are a few reminders:
- Illness: Children experiencing a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other significant symptoms of illness should remain home. Students should be symptom-free for at least 24 hours without the use of medication before returning to school.
- Label Belongings: Please label all of your child's belongings, including jackets, lunch boxes, etc. This helps us return items to the correct student.
- Change of Clothes: Every student should have a labeled change of clothes at school in case of spills or accidents.
- Water Bottle: Please send your child with a labeled water bottle each day.
- Bookbags: Please make sure your child brings their bookbag to school every day. Each student's dismissal tag is attached to their bookbag, which helps us safely match students to the car rider tag displayed in your vehicle during dismissal.
- No Toys. Please keep personal toys at home unless specifically requested by your child’s teacher. This helps us prevent distractions and avoid lost or misplaced items.
- Communication: Remember to check your scholar's weekly folder, review the teacher & school newsletter and to check Parent Square regularly for updates and reminders.
Arrival & Dismissal
- Please keep the coned entryways clear unless directed otherwise by a member of the JLA team. These areas must remain accessible for our buses and School Resource Officers to safely enter and exit.
- Close the gaps! As you move through the car rider line, please pull forward as much as possible. This helps us get more vehicles into the parking lot and safely off the street.
- During morning arrival, please remain in your vehicle. A JLA staff member will assist your child with getting out of the car safely.
- Keep your car rider tag visible on your dashboard during dismissal. This helps our team quickly identify your student and keep the line moving efficiently.
- Give one another grace. 💛 We are all working together toward the same goal—ensuring every JLA scholar arrives and gets home safely.
- Arrival: 7:50 - 8:15 AM Dismissal: 2:30 - 3:00 PM
