Akron School is excited to introduce Mr. DJ Hass from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office! Mr. Hass will serve as a school resource officer for all five county schools. We’re still working out the details with the WCSO, but the plan is for Mr. Hass to be in each county school one day a week, and more often if needed.

Mr. Hass comes to us with five years of experience as an SRO in the Yuma School District. We’re looking forward to working with him to increase safety measures at our school and to learning from his training and experience. Please join us in giving him a warm welcome!

On Tuesday, November 3rd, Mr. Christensen had the privilege of leading a tour of the Akron School for a delegation from Colorado State University, including representatives from CSU Extension, the College of Agricultural Sciences, and the President’s Office.

The visit highlighted the ongoing college and career pathway initiatives and expanded student opportunities that Akron School has developed over the past several years.
