The Hoover Hawk Times
"A Safe, Joyful, and Challenging Learning Community"
The Neshaminy community builds futures by empowering each child to become a productive citizen and a lifelong learner.
The Hoover Hawks are Ready to Fly with Pride!
Parent(s) and Guardian(s),
Teachers, Support Staff, Custodians, and District Administrators have worked hard during the last few weeks to ensure that we are ready for the first day of school. I am pleased to report that we are ready!
All of our teachers have reached out to their parents with specific information regarding the first day of school on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Students will need a device to work from home (iPad or Chromebook). Students will need their User Name and their Password to log into their device. They will then log into Clever. They will then log into Canvas. Zoom links for synchronous learning opportunities will be located in Canvas.
If your District device is not working properly, please complete the link below to request a new device.

I am sure that there will be a few challenges for everyone on Tuesday. Please know that my entire staff is here to support you. You can always reach out to your child's teacher with a question. You can also contact me via email at dglennon@neshaminy.org or on my cell phone at (215) 519-4299. I will review my email and my voicemail messages periodically throughout the weekend to ensure that I can support anyone who needs additional support with preparing for the first day of school.
Tuesday will be my 46th first day of school. I am always excited about the prospect of starting a new school year. I can't wait to meet all of our new students and parents online and in person.
Have a great weekend! Read a good book!
Sincerely,
David S. Glennon, Ph.D.

Dr. G. Will Create an "SEL Video" for Students Next Week!
Until Hoover has a new School Counselor, Dr. G. has volunteered to create videos for students to view during their weekly "Social Emotional Learning" class. Dr. G. will work on those videos this weekend. He will email the video links to parents next week.
Upcoming Events:
In order to ensure that we minimize the number of people in the office at one time, Mrs. Chrobak, Mrs. Ritter, and Dr. G. will attempt to conduct as much business as possible via the phone, email, and Zoom. If you need to stop by Hoover to meet with Dr. G., please call or email in advance to set up an appointment.

Title I Plan for 2020-2021:
The parents, teachers, staff members, and administrators who are members of the Title I Planning Team have reviewed the Hoover Elementary School Report on the PA Future Ready Index website. They have also reviewed all available student data. The Title I Planning Team has determined that Hoover will focus on three goals for the 2020-2021 school year:
- Implement the Ready Math Program to Help Students Master the Math Standards
- Use ELA and Math Data to Differentiate Instruction based on Student Need
- Implement a Multi-Tiered System of Support to Provide Research-Based Interventions to Assist Students with their Academic and Behavioral Needs
