Trunk or Treat 25 October- We have PSO Chairfolks!

Happy October Osgood Parents!

Please mark your calendar for the 6th Annual Osgood Fall Festival Trunk or Treat event to be held in the Osgood Parking Lot on Friday, October 25th from 4:30-5:30pm. We are so excited to bring back this fall family event for another year!

We are looking for 22 "Trunk Hosts" for this event. Please sign up to be a trunk host here! The Trunk or Treat is an allergen-friendly event and only non-food treats are handed out.

We are continuing the "trinket" drive this year now through October 21st. Any donated trinkets will then be reused and handed out at this year's event. Please ensure items are clean and in usable condition. Some examples of trinkets are the following: arcade toys, fast food toys, mini erasers, spider rings, fake bugs, fake tattoos, stickers, pencils, bouncy balls, and small toys. Clean out those drawers and toy bins! There is a collection bin on the porch of 11 Tad Lane.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions: osgood@cohassetpso.org

Play is serious work at the Osgood School!

Please email Mrs. Gaudette (agaudette@cohassetk12.org) if you are interested in serving on our Working Group that will be focused on how we might use what we are learning from The Anxious Generation to enhance our children's experience at Osgood.

Speaking of play...

We are adding a 15 minutes once a week for 1st and 2nd grade that we plan to make more open-ended for students. It will be on the grass field behind the building. We are in need of some "loose parts" to add to the fun. We'd love clean boxes (large or small), pool noodles, large electrical spools, hay bails, rope, duct tape, etc. See the images below for some ideas. Please drop items off in the office.

We will also be teaching some cooperative playground games that students can choose to play during that time. Let Mrs. Gaudette know if you have something you think would be great for the space but want to be sure.

Safe Snack List

For the safety of all students, please use this list to choose snacks that are allowed at the Osgood School. We do have a nut free table in the cafeteria, so this guidance is just for snacks, which are most often eaten in classrooms. The list was generated to avoid having our school nurses check all students' snacks each day to be sure they are safe.

Please pack your child's snack separate from their lunch.

Annual Update of Student Information in ASPEN

We need your help to update important information about your children annually. Please take a few to complete the following tasks if you haven't already:

Please complete the Parent Portal Workflow in Aspen. The workflow is very brief and covers the following areas:

  • Emergency Contact Information

  • Do Not Photograph

  • Handbook Acknowledgment

  • Information Sharing with the PSO and CEF

Instructions on how to complete the workflow can be found on the CPS website.

A health form came home on pink paper. If you have not yet, please complete the CPS Health Form and return to your child's teacher or by email to kgildea@cohassetk12.org. Please note the school screenings for certain grades each year. Please let one of our school nurses, Kelli Gildea or Sandy Crough, know if you have any questions or concerns.

Completing these steps is required. Your prompt response is greatly appreciated.

Transportation

For information regarding school transportation, please visit the transportation page on the new CPS website. All students must be registered through transportation to ride the bus. However, buses are full at this time and they are placing students on wait lists.
