Flexible Modular Schedule

The staff of the high school is currently working to develop a flexible modular schedule for the 2017-18 school year. This schedule varies from a traditional schedule in that students' classes vary in length by day depending on the needs of a particular course. Students will also have the opportunity to get more individualized assistance from teachers.


We hosted a Q/A session about the new schedule at parent/teacher conferences, and we will host more events through the spring to give opportunities to ask questions and provide feedback. Much more information in regards to the schedule will be sent out in the coming weeks. If unable to attend a Q/A event, please feel free to contact me anytime by phone or email or schedule a time to come to the high school to discuss.

Royals Trip

The date for the Royals trip has been set for Thursday, May 4. Students who miss four or less days of school will be eligible. All expenses will be covered for students. Food will be provided prior to the game; students who wish to purchase concessions or souvenirs will be responsible for paying for those items. Attendance will be calculated through Monday, April 17. Students will receive one additional day of absence for each month of perfect attendance. Please contact us with any questions.

The Miracle Workder

The ESHS drama department will present The Miracle Worker on Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11. The show starts in the PAC each night at 7PM. Adults $10 Students $5

Back-to-School Immunications

On Tuesday, April 25, ESHS will be hosting a clinic for juniors to get the immunizations they will need for their senior year. The event will be from 3:30 to 7:00PM in the high school commons. Immunizations will be provided by the Clay County Public Health Center--To schedule an appointment, call (816) 595-4355

Senior Yearbook Ads

Friday, March 17 is the deadline to purchase a senior ad in the yearbook. To purchase an ad, contact Ms. Engquist either by email @ mengquist@ga.essd40.com or by regular mail @ 612 Tiger Drive, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024.


Please include the text that is to appear in the ad and the picture(s) to use. Cash or check made out to ESHS are accepted payments. Pricing is below:
