November Conferences
Conference Sign-Ups Open Monday, November 9th in the AM
Hi Briggs Families,
Today marked the end of the first quarter of the 2026-2027 school year. Can you believe we are already here?! Conferences will take place on November 19 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM and November 20 from 8:00 AM - Noon.
Parent-Teacher Conference Guidelines
To help ensure that all families have an opportunity to meet with their student's teachers, we ask that each family please limit your sign-ups to four conferences per student.
We recommend checking your student's grades in ParentVue to identify their core teachers and determine where additional support may be needed. Please prioritize scheduling conferences with teachers whose classes your student may be struggling in or where they would benefit most from additional support.
Conference Timing
Each conference will be 10 minutes long, followed by a 5-minute transition window. This additional time will allow families to move to their next conference or wrap up their conversation. A bell/chime will sound to let teachers and families know when the 10-minute conference time has ended.
Thank you for helping us keep conferences running smoothly and on schedule!
*Please note that if additional conference time is necessary with a teacher, they are always available via email and you are welcome to reach out and set up an additional time to chat*
Hoping to Meet with Additional Teachers?
If you have a break between scheduled conferences, be sure to stop by the PTO table! Some of our amazing PTO members will have copies of all teachers' conference schedules available. They will be happy to help you check for any additional openings with teachers you weren't initially able to schedule with due to the four-conference limit.
We appreciate your flexibility and partnership as we work to make conference time as productive and accessible as possible for all Briggs families!
How to Schedule Conferences
In order to schedule conferences with your student's teachers, you will need to have the ParentVue app. If you do not already have this app downloaded on your phone, we encourage you to do so. You can also access your ParentVue account from a computer. If it is your first time setting up a ParentVue account, you may be asked for an "activation code/key". You can get this from the main office (541-744-6350). If you already have a ParentVue account or had one in the past and have lost or forgotten your username or password, please call the main office and we can remind you what your username is and/or reset your password to get you back into your account.
Log In: Open your district's ParentVUE mobile app or web browser portal and sign in with your account.
Select Student: Choose the specific child you want to schedule meetings for (if you have multiple children, repeat the steps for each one).
Open Conferences: Click on Conference from the dashboard button.
Pick Time Slots: Review the list of your child’s teachers and select an open time slot from the available calendar options.
Save & Confirm: Confirm your selections—most systems auto-save your choice and email you a confirmation message.
Oregon Student Health Survey – November 9–13
Briggs Middle School will be participating in the Oregon Student Health Survey during the week of November 9–13. This survey is given to students in 6th and 8th grades and helps schools and communities better understand student health, well-being, and experiences.
Participation is voluntary and anonymous. Students may choose not to participate or skip any questions they do not wish to answer.
Families who do not want their student to participate may complete the opt-out form provided in the parent notification and return it to the Briggs office before the survey.
For more information, including an opportunity to review the survey questions, please visit the Oregon Student Health Survey website.
Thank you for your partnership as we continue working to support the health and well-being of our students!
Every day at Briggs is an opportunity to learn, connect, and grow!
Attendance is one of our schoolwide priorities this year, and we want to keep families informed about how we're doing as we work together to help our Tigers be successful.
Here's a quick look at our attendance so far this school year:
77 students have perfect attendance!
168 students have attended more than 95% of school days.
83 students have attended between 90% and 95% of school days.
That means more than half of our Tigers have attended at least 95% of the time! That's something worth celebrating!
We are encouraged by these numbers, and we also know there is room to grow. Regular attendance makes a difference in student learning, friendships, and feeling connected to school. By sharing these updates throughout the year, we hope to celebrate our progress and keep attendance a shared priority for our school community.
We know kids get sick, and when they do, they need to stay home and get better. We also recognize that families sometimes face circumstances that make getting to school difficult. Our message is simple: when students are healthy and able to attend, we want them here! Every day is an opportunity to learn something new, connect with friends, and be part of our Briggs community.
If your family is experiencing challenges with attendance, please reach out. We want to understand what's getting in the way and work together to find solutions.
Thank you for helping us make attendance a priority. Every day counts, and every Tiger matters!
