Weekly round up
24.10.2025
We come to the end of a very busy and long half term. It has been full of learning, school visits, visitors to school and so much more. I know the children are now ready for a break but they should all be so proud of what they have achieved in this first half term.
Thank you to everyone who came to parent and carer consultation evening this week and for completing the questionnaire. If you have not had chance to do this yet, the link is below and the questionnaire can still be completed.
A big thank you also to the prefects who helped on the evenings. I am sure you will agree they were absolute stars!

A big well done to all of our pupils who have been in school every day this week and an even bigger well done to pupils who have made it in every day this half term!
This week's school attendance is: 93.0%
This year's attendance to date is 95.5%.
Early Years & KS1 class of the week is 1B with 97.4 %.
KS2 classes of the week is 4R with 98.7 %.
A reminder that, as a school,. we are aiming for no less than 96% attendance.
Shipley library visits
Like last year, throughout the autumn and early spring terms we intend to take all pupils to Shipley library. A number of visits have taken place this week.
Family Breakfast
We had another successful family breakfast this week - thank you to all of you who supported this event. We apologise if there was any confusion with Pings for this event and will try to make sure this doesn't happen again. We will be holding a breakfast each half term and are considering holding one for EYFS/KS1 and a separate one for KS2 to allow even more families to attend.
Harvest appeal
Thank you again to everyone who contributed to our Harvest appeal. As you can see from the picture below, we raised an incredible amount.
Mabel - the school dog - don't forget to complete the Ping!
Hopefully you have seen the Ping which will enable you to give permission for your child to have direct contact with Mabel - our newest member of staff - after the holidays. She will be in school from the Monday (although she won't be in the playground from Day 1 as we are inducting her into her new role gently!).
Diwali
Children have been learning about Diwali this week and how families celebrate. Reception have even been making their own salt dough Diya lamps! Happy Diwali to all those who celebrated.
Safety in the School Car Park and Surrounding Area
Please look out for the School Ping about parking in the school car park.
Furthermore, a reminder to park safely on the roads outside of school. I received an email this morning as a parent witnessed a child almost being hit by a car. Although I cannot publish the picture of the car due to being threatened with legal action previously, if you are the owner of a dark black/blue VW Golf, your parking nearly caused an accident this morning. The picture of the car has been forwarded to the Council.

Next half term's sports clubs
SPORTS CLUBS
Just a reminder that we have a number of after school sports clubs available next half term.
There are a few spaces left in each one.
Please contact the office to secure your child’s place.
Sporting Update
Another brilliant event where our children had a fantastic time and had lots of fun.
Well done everybody!
A great game of football yesterday evening against Blakehill Primary School.
All action, end to end, with lots of chances for both teams. All of our girls played amazingly, working extremely hard and giving their all.
Lots of girls were playing their first ever game of football. It is brilliant that we can give our pupils these fantastic opportunities.
Well done to everybody!
Online Safety - Fortnite
Below you will find the link to a guide centred around Fortnite which we know a number of our children play on as well as some half-term advice from Screen Safe.
A reminder that all of our guides can be found on the online safety page of the website.
We hope you all have a lovely half term and we will see you all on Monday 3rd November.
