Hello Leschi Families,

Thank you to our Fall Festival organizers and volunteers. What a fun evening as the Leschi Community!

A reminder of the importance of attendance and on-time arrival to school to students can engage in and experience all of Leschi’s learning opportunities. Classrooms spend the first 20 minutes in SEL learning and community building circles. Classrooms then begin academic learning around 8:20, beginning the day with literacy in K-2 and math in 3-5. Critical learning begins early in the school day! Next week we will begin mailing attendance and tardy letters to remind the importance of regular and on-time attendance.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions:

Sincerely,

Genevieve Ramsey

Curriculum Nights

We enjoyed the community connections at curriculum night! Each grade level is planning now planning a short curriculum night to review learning goals and curriculum for their grade level, see examples of the curriculum, share ways to extend learning outside of the school day through homework, and identify current areas of focus. Some curriculum nights are in person and others are virtual. Teachers will communicate dates directly. In-person curriculum nights will have light snacks provided. Grade level curriculum nights are also listed in the important dates above.

Community News (repeat announcement)

The UW School Psychology Clinic is offering free mental health services beginning in January 2027, and we welcome interested client!

We provide the following services:

  • Counseling services to children and young adults that are 10 - 21 years old using evidence-based practices, addressing a wide range of childhood disorders and mental health issues (Monday or Wednesday evenings; virtual/hybrid available to ages 13 and older)

  • Evaluation services to children and young adults that are 8 - 18 years old examining cognitive, academic, and socio-emotional/behavioral concerns (Tuesday or Thursday morning sessions; at least two sessions must be held in-person)

It is important to note that our clinic evaluations do not result in diagnoses provided, but rather provide broad cognitive, learning, and social/behavioral profiles. We will screen and determine the best form of treatment for each individual client and family. Services are provided by school psychology graduate clinicians and are all supervised by a licensed clinician/faculty member at the University of Washington. All services are provided in English at this time.

Parents, guardians, or professionals of potential clients are asked to fill out the Service Request Form on our website if they are interested in our services. Responses submitted using this form are viewed during regular business hours, and families can typically expect to be contacted by clinic staff shortly after submitting information. Recruitment will conclude at the end of November 2026.

If you have questions, please email spclinic@uw.edu or call 206-543-4970. You will find a linked flyer with details for signing up to request services.

Thanks,

Genny Ramsey (Principal) and Will English (Assistant Principal)
