đ± Set Up PickUp Patrol
Your Childâs DEFAULT Dismissal Plan Is Important!
MRE uses PickUp Patrol to manage student attendance and dismissal plans. Families can use PickUp Patrol to report absences, tardy arrivals, early dismissals, and changes to dismissal plans.
â First: Check Your Childâs DEFAULT Dismissal Plan
Every family should make sure their childâs DEFAULT dismissal plan is accurate for every school day, MondayâFriday.
**The DEFAULT plan is the dismissal plan the school and classroom teacher will follow when no change has been submitted.**
New families:
You will receive an email with a personalized link to register your child in PickUp Patrol. Please register and set your childâs DEFAULT dismissal plan before the first day of school.
Returning families:
Please log in to PickUp Patrol and review your childâs DEFAULT dismissal plan for each day, MondayâFriday. Update any plans that have changed.
Once your DEFAULT plans are set, you can use PickUp Patrol throughout the year to let us know about changes to dismissal, absences, tardies, or early dismissals.

School Transportation
đ§ Bus Route Information
Students are assigned to ride the bus to and from their registered home address only.
đ Please Help Keep Bus Routes Private
For the safety of all students, bus routes are not posted publicly.
Please do not share or post bus route information on social media or other public platforms.
Thank you for helping us protect the safety and privacy of all our students!
No more Bus 17!
Bus 17 no longer exists and has been merged with Bus 18
Nancy Kelly is the Dee Bus Dispatch Manager and drives buses as a substitute driver when needed. The students know her as Nan.
Bus Resolution Resolution Protocol
If you should have questions or concerns regarding the location of your childâs stop, please follow the School Bus Resolution Protocol. Dee Bus has notified us that all routes have had some adjustments from last year.
Please keep in mind that both the school and Dee Bus are receiving a large number of messages at this busy time of your. Your questions are important and both will respond in the order the messages are received. Thank you for your understanding.
đą Bus Updates Available on the MRE Live Feed
We know that unexpected delays can happen due to traffic, construction, weather, or road conditions. To keep families informed, we will share updates through the MRE Live Feed whenever we receive information about bus delays or transportation issues.
We encourage families to check the Live Feed regularly, especially during arrival and dismissal times, for the most current updates.
Parent Pick-up & Drop-Off
Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
To help keep arrival and dismissal safe, efficient, and organized for all students and families, please review the important procedures below. Thank you for helping us create a smooth start and end to each school day!
đ Student Arrival (Drop-Off)
Drop-Off Window: 8:25â8:35 AM
Location: Front of the building using the back access road
Drop-Off Procedure:
- Please pull forward along the sidewalk to allow up to 8 vehicles to unload safely.
- Students should be ready to exit independently from the passenger side of the vehicle.
- Parents/guardians should remain in their vehicles during drop-off.
Need to help your child get inside?
Please park in the front parking spaces or on the basketball court and walk your child to the entrance.
Traffic Flow Reminder:
- When leaving the drop-off area, turn left at the peninsula and wait for traffic ahead to move.
- Please do not drive around stopped vehicles.
Additional Safety Notes:
- Preschool arrival traffic occurs from 9:35â9:45 AM. Please use extra caution during this time.
- Please be aware that LBMS classes may be using outdoor areas behind the building.
đ Student Dismissal (Pick-Up)
Pick-Up Line Opens: 2:50 PM
(Please do not arrive earlier, as staff are preparing for dismissal.)
Location: Behind MRE using the back access road
Pick-Up Procedure:
- Please remain in your vehicle while waiting in the pick-up line.
- An MRE staff member will come to your vehicle to ask who you are picking up.
- A sign with your childâs name displayed in your window is helpful and can help keep dismissal moving efficiently.
- Students will be called and released once their name is confirmed.
Safety Reminders:
- Please drive slowly and carefully.
- Wait for staff members to move the cones before proceeding.
- LBMS may have afternoon activities and MRE students may be outside, so extra caution is needed around the building.
***Office Pick-Up*** The last office pick-up is at 2:30. After that, all students must be picked up through the pick-up line only.
***Walkers*** Will be dismissed after the buses have departed. These students will be called from the gym and released to an adult waiting outside the front doors. If no adult is present, the student will be brought to the office and remain there until their adult arrives.
đșïž Arrival & Dismissal Route
The map below shows the traffic pattern around the building:
- Blue line: Morning drop-off route
- Red line: Afternoon pick-up route and student pick-up location
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work together to keep all students safe and dismissal running smoothly!
New this year for TARDY Arrivals
A parent or guardian must accompany any student arriving after 8:35 a.m. into the main office to sign them in before the student proceeds to class. Please park in an open parking space and ring the doorbell when you arrive.
Please note: Preschool arrival begins immediately after Kâ5 arrival is complete. Preschool families will enter the parking circle using a different direction, so please be mindful of this.
School Lunch & Breakfast
Refillable Water Bottle
We recommend that students bring a refillable water bottle to school each day. We have refill stations students can use. Please, no glass bottles. If your child forgets their bottle on any given day, we have fountains and cups they can use - No worries!
School Supplies, Backpacks & Snacks
We are happy to share that MRE provides the majority of school supplies needed for all students throughout the school year. Families do not need to purchase a lengthy school supply list!
Occasionally, teachers may request a few small classroom items, but these items are not required. Some teachers may also share an optional classroom wish list with items such as tissues, Ziploc-style bags, plastic spoons, or other helpful supplies. Any contributions are always appreciated but are completely voluntary.
All students should plan to bring:
- A standard-sized backpack each day
- A daily snack (a lunch box or small snack pouch may be helpful for keeping snacks organized)
- A refillable water bottle (please do not send glass bottles)
If a teacher has any specific classroom requests, they will communicate those directly with families by letter or email.
If your family needs assistance with any of the items listed above, please email MREattendance@nrsd.net. Either the School Nurse or Mrs. Frommer will reach out privately to make arrangements.
We want all of our students to start the school year feeling prepared and supported, without families feeling the need to purchase unnecessary supplies.
What if a student forgets an item at home?
Forgot Something at Home? Itâs Okay!
We know mornings can be busy, and sometimes students arrive at school without something they meant to bringâa water bottle, homework folder, library book, or another item. Itâs okay!
Please donât worry or feel that you need to rush back to school with a forgotten item. We have water available for students, and arrangements can often be made for items to come in the following day. Forgot a lunch box? No worries. The Nutrition Team has created several delicious options to choose from.
Learning to handle small mistakes and problem-solve when something doesnât go as planned is an important part of building independence and resilience. A forgotten item can be a learning opportunityâand a chance for your child to practice taking responsibility and figuring out what to do next. â€ïž
