Parent/Teacher Conferences
Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences Are Next Week!
BHL Families,
Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences are just around the corner! Conferences will take place Monday, October 12–Thursday, October 15.
All students should have received a conference schedule letter to bring home and share with their families. Please use this letter to schedule your conference with your scholar’s teachers.
Our conferences are student-led, making it especially important for our scholars to be present and actively involved. This is a wonderful opportunity for families, students, and teachers to come together to discuss your scholar’s goals, progress, grades, behavior, support and achievements.
We look forward to celebrating your scholar’s growth and working together to support their continued success. If you have any questions about your scholar’s conference, please contact their homeroom teacher for more information.

CCSD Cell Phone and Personal Device Usage Requirements
Distraction-Free Education:
At CCSD, we're creating distraction-free classrooms where every student can thrive.
Georgia's Distraction-Free Education Act seeks to promote a positive school climate and learning environment in all classrooms by removing the distractions posed by cell phones and other personal electronic devices. The state law went into effect July 1, 2026, and prohibits the use of cell phones and all other personal electronic devices by students in grades pre-K-8 during the school day and restricts the usage of devices by high school students during instructional periods.
A personal device ban for high school students during the school day will take effect at the start of the 2027-28 school year.
Read more below about CCSD's cell phone and personal device procedures that will be in effect for the 2026-27 school year.
Pursuant to Georgia law (effective July 1, 2026) and CCSD Board of Education Policy JCDAF: Use of Electronic Devices by Students, students in grades PK-8 may not access or use any form of electronic devices at any time during the school day (bell to bell). This includes, but is not limited to:
Cell phones
Personal smartwatches and smart glasses
AirPods, earbuds, headphones
Personal tablet devices and e-readers
Portable gaming systems
Any other devices with functionalities such as wireless communication, internet access, messaging, video recording, gaming, social media access, or data transmission.
