CLMS FamilyUpdateOctober 23, 2026

From CLMS Principal, Mr. Eric Pettit

Good Afternoon, CLMS Families!

There is a lot happening at CLMS as we head into the final stretch of the first quarter! Students are continuing to work hard in the classroom, participate in activities, and take advantage of the many opportunities available to them throughout the school week.

With the end of the quarter approaching, now is a great time for students to make sure they are caught up on assignments and that their grades accurately reflect what they have learned. We encourage families to continue checking in with students and reaching out to teachers whenever questions come up.

Next week will also bring some extra energy to the building as we celebrate Red Ribbon Week with themed spirit days and reminders about making healthy, safe, and positive choices. We are looking forward to seeing our students participate and have some fun throughout the week.

As always, thank you for the support you continue to provide our students and staff. We appreciate the partnership we have with our families and look forward to finishing the first quarter strong!

As Always, Go Pirates!

The Cardington-Lincoln Local Schools is working to strengthen student learning across the district. Through our BLT, DLT and TBT teams, Teachers, administrators, and district and building leaders are building on work already underway and working collaboratively to strengthen instructional practices, improve consistency across classrooms, and better meet the needs of all students. Outside educational leaders and coaches are helping teams align our efforts and strengthen the systems that support these goals.

Educators are focusing on practices that help students understand what they are learning. This includes clearly explaining lesson goals, modeling new learning, teaching important vocabulary in each subject, and checking for understanding. Teachers are also using assessments, screeners, and classroom work to identify what students know and where they may need additional support or a greater challenge. The district is reviewing math resources and course pathways to plan for students’ future learning.

We will continue to keep the CLLSD learning community updated on our progress. This work will continue throughout the school year as Wwe are dedicated to moving the needle across all areas, with student academic success as our top priority. Please contact your child’s school with questions or to share information that may help support your child’s learning.

Red Ribbon Week Red Ribbon Week

Next week, CLMS will recognize Red Ribbon Week, a national prevention campaign focused on encouraging students to make healthy, safe, and drug-free choices. Throughout the week, we will use this opportunity to reinforce the importance of making positive decisions, taking care of yourself, and surrounding yourself with people and habits that help you succeed. We also like to have a little fun while recognizing the week! Our themed spirit days for Red Ribbon Week are pictured below, and we hope our students will join in throughout the week!

Students will be required to change if their costume does not meet these expectations.
