Our Marie Murphy Varsity Science Olympiad team is coming home from California as the 6th place team in the nation at the National Science Olympiad Competition!

This accomplishment reflects months (and years!) of dedication, teamwork, curiosity, resilience, and an incredible passion for learning. Competing against the very best teams across the country and finishing 6th nationally is truly extraordinary.

We are so proud of our students, coaches, and families for representing our school community with excellence, humility, and heart. The future is bright for these Vikings! ❤️💛

Tomorrow is our annual Olympics event! Students will be outside for most of the day participating in activities and cheering on their classmates. Please help your child come prepared for the day by sending:

Sunscreen

A water bottle

Gym shoes with laces

Comfortable athletic clothing

A change of clothes if your child prefers not to stay in sweaty clothes after activities

We are looking forward to a fun day of teamwork, school spirit, and friendly competition!

Looking for a way to build leadership skills while making a difference in the community? Gratitude Generation (G2) offers exciting service and leadership opportunities for students entering grades 6–12 through Junior Leaders, Service Squad, and Teen Board. Students can participate in hands on service projects, develop teamwork and communication skills, and become part of a community dedicated to giving back. No experience is required, just a willingness to lead and serve!

Registration for the 2026-2027 school year opened on April 15. If you haven't received the registration email or have any questions, please email registration@avoca37.org. Please complete registration by May 30, 2026.

If your child is transitioning to kindergarten at Avoca West, you will receive a new student registration link once we have received all required pre-registration documents.

Moving out of District? If your student will not be attending an Avoca school next year, please let registration@avoca37.org know. That will help make sure we don't send reminder emails!

If you are interested in enrolling your child in Avoca Community Preschool for the next school year, please fill out the 26-27 Preschool Enrollment form, located on the Avoca 37 website or paper copies are available in the offices of both schools. Once completed, please return the form to Dawn Scaramuzza in the Student Services office. Along with the enrollment form, a $100 non-refundable application fee is due. In order to register, students must be 3 before the start of the school year and toilet-trained. Class size is limited and once limits have been met, students will be placed on a waitlist.

Please return forms as quickly as possible, in order to secure a spot in either the Core or Core plus Extended class. The Core class attends Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 11:05 a.m. The Extended class is available Monday through Friday from 11:05 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Should you have any questions, please contact Dawn Scaramuzza in the Student Services office at scaramuzzad@avoca37.org or at 847-728-4142.

May 29: High Five Friday with the Wilmette first responders, Clap Off for 8th graders at 3:00, and 8th grade dance

June 1: 8th graders to Six Flags Great America, 5th graders visit Marie Murphy

June 2: Some 7th Graders to Springfield, Some 7th Graders to the Lincoln Park Zoo

June 3: Last day of school for 8th graders, Some 7th graders to Navy Pier

June 4: Graduation at 7pm at the Northfield NT campus

June 5: 6th and 7th Grader's Last Day
