Dear Heatherwood Families,

As we enter the final weeks of the school year, we encourage all students to finish strong by maintaining excellent attendance, staying focused, and remaining fully engaged in their learning each day. Every class period matters, and these last two weeks provide valuable opportunities for students to demonstrate their growth, celebrate accomplishments, and prepare for future success.

This year has been filled with incredible achievements, and we are proud of the many students who have represented Heatherwood with excellence both inside and outside the classroom. Congratulations to our students who excelled academically and to those who participated in and earned recognition through Robotics, Math competitions, Reflections, Art competitions, TSA, Frozen Jr. Musical, athletics, Youth & Government, Multicultural Night, WEB Leadership, ASB and countless other activities. We know this list does not capture every accomplishment, and we are grateful for the many students and families who have contributed their talents, time, and energy to making Heatherwood a vibrant and supportive school community.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our PTSA. Their ongoing support throughout the year has made a tremendous impact on our students and staff. From organizing special events and recognitions to providing thoughtful treats and expressions of appreciation, our PTSA continues to strengthen our school community. Thank you for your partnership and dedication to Heatherwood.

Most importantly, thank you to our families for your partnership throughout the school year. Your support, encouragement, and involvement have helped our students thrive. Together, we have created a positive learning environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

As summer approaches, we hope your family enjoys a well-deserved break filled with rest, fun, and opportunities to make lasting memories. We look forward to welcoming our students back in the fall for another exciting year at Heatherwood.

Thank you for a wonderful school year, and best wishes for a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable summer!

Sincerely,

Dr. Laura Wellington, Principal and Mr. Chris Doll, Assistant Principal

A Word From Our Counselors A Word From Our Counselors

Happy last month of school!

We hope that you have a wonderful, sunny, and relaxing summer break!

As we conclude the school year, we wanted to make you aware of some changes happening within our Heatherwood Counseling curriculum, resources available to you, and schedule/counselor availability at the end of summer.

Transition to SchooLinks

Naviance, our High School and Beyond program which we use for students building SMART Goals and Career/College Interest, will now be SchooLinks in the 2026-27 school year. They will still have the same tasks of SMART Goals, Career Cluster, High School and Beyond Plan but with some more engaging tasks through SchooLinks. Parents will have access to SchooLinks, through Clever, to see what tasks students are completing and tracking their High School and Beyond plan completion.

Resources:

Food & Nutrition will be serving meals in our communities to support students who lack access to food when school is out. Below are the summer meal site locations.

Cascade Boys & Girls Club - Garfield Elementary

Eisenhower Middle School - Holly Ridge Apartments

Everett Boys & Girls Club - Life & Learning Youth Center

Everett Public Library - Forest Park

View Ridge Elementary - Imagine Museum (for enrolled Summer Camps only)

Please make sure to fill out the Child Nutrition Eligibility and Education Benefit Application at the start of every school year. Completing this application may qualify you for:

  • Meal Benefits
  • Summer EBT Benefits
  • Reduced fees or other programs and activities
  • Help secure funding for your school

Student Schedules

Student Schedules will be available in late August through StudentVUE, typically the Friday before the 1st day of school. The exact date will be announced when the 2026-2027 district calendar is released.

Counselor Schedules

School counselors will be out of the office this summer with limited access to emails. We will be back in mid-to-late-August to review any messages and correspondence. The counselors’ priority before the start of school is ensuring that all students have a schedule.

Wishing all of our amazing students and families a safe, happy, and deeply restful summer break! Thank you for partnering with us this year to support our students' emotional and academic growth. Take care of yourselves, enjoy the sunshine, and we will see you in the fall!

Sincerely,

Jana Freeman Class of 2032
