Phil Campbell HS Newsletter
August 24th, 2024
We had a short week last week and this week will be a little turbulent at well.
Monday will be a half day for students. School will dismiss at 11:30am. The afternoon will be for parent/teacher conferences. If you would like to meet with a teacher, please set an appointment through the office or directly with teachers from 1pm to 3pm.
Tuesday we will be giving two state mandated tests- the WorkKeys to Seniors and preACT to Sophomores. These were originally scheduled for Wednesday but had to moved because of the volleyball Super Regionals. 9th graders and 11th graders will be virtual on Tuesday to free up resources for testing and reduce distractions.
Wednesday, the high school will be closed to give students and staff members a chance to travel to Birmingham to watch our volleyball team in the Super Regionals. Our volleyball team finished runner up in the Class 3A Area 15 tournament earning the bid to the Regionals.
Thursday and Friday will be normal days. There will be a Senior Night bon fire Thursday night for our Seniors. This will not be a community event. This is for our students. It is NOT a pep rally. They will play music, have pizza and enjoy time together. This will be from 7:30pm to 9pm.
Senior Night for football, band and cheer will be Friday night. The recognition ceremony will be at 6:30pm before the game against Hanceville. The Senior Pep Rally will be Friday afternoon at 2pm. A win Friday night will earn our football team a playoff spot.
Junior high basketball tips off this week with three games- Monday on the road at Hamilton, Tuesday and Thursday at home against Haleyville and Belgreen.
Have A Great Week!
