🌟 CTE Month Limelight: Fernley High School Agriculture Program 🌟
Our first CTE Month spotlight shines on the Fernley High School Agriculture CTE Program!
This outstanding program offers students meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities through its barn and pasture located behind East Valley Elementary School. The space allows students to work directly with livestock and gain real-world agricultural experience.
Under the leadership of teacher Sydney Botts, the program continues to thrive. She does an incredible job managing both the farm and the students, creating an environment where learning, responsibility, and passion for agriculture grow every day.
On the farm, students care for cows, calves, several goats, and a bull that the program hopes to breed this spring—all of which keep students actively engaged. The program is also looking ahead, with plans to expand its livestock, offering even more opportunities for hands-on learning.
This course emphasizes experiential education and has sparked a passion in many students who now plan to continue on the agriculture pathway after high school.
