Jaguars of the Week
Spirit Day & School Store
Tomorrow is SPIRIT DAY. Be BOLD and wear BLACK & GOLD or DuJardin Spirit Wear. Help your class show the most school spirit and get a visit from DJ the school mascot.
Tomorrow is also the School Store during the lunch period. Don't forget to put some money in your lunchbox to purchase an item or two at the school store.
Report Cards for Trimester 1
First trimester grades will be posted in Alma on Friday afternoon. Instead of sending home progress reports, we ask that parents use the Alma portal to view student scores. Please see the instructions below to view your child’s Trimester 1 progress report:
To access Alma, please head to dujardin.getalma.com. You will need to log into your Alma account using the same information from registration. Your username should be your firstname.lastname. If you don't remember your password, please select “forgot password” at the bottom or contact the office.
On the left hand side, select your child’s name. Then select the “report cards” tab. Underneath this tab, you will see a Trimester 1 Progress Report PDF. This will show you your child’s current progress for the school year.
Access Your Child’s Progress Report
Please keep in mind that these standards are year long goals. Please view the scores on the progress report as a snapshot of your child’s current mastery levels. They may change throughout the year as skills are reassessed.
To check your child's progress in Alma throughout the year, click on “Classes”. Choose which class you would like to see progress in. There you should see all assignments, standards assessed and overall progress. Alma will be updated periodically throughout the year.
Please feel free to reach out to Kat Lents at klents@sd13.org if you have any problems accessing your Alma account or viewing your child’s progress report.
Holiday Magic
The PTO is thrilled to announce the return of the Holiday Magic Gift Shop! This is a magical opportunity for our students to experience the joy of giving by secretly shopping for special, affordable gifts for their family and friends. Students will be visiting the Gift Shop on December 9th or 10th.
The PTO is still in need of more Parent Volunteers, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. If you are able to volunteer, please sign up HERE
Winter Weather
As the temperatures begin to drop, we want to share a reminder about our recess procedures to ensure all students are dressed appropriately for outdoor play:
Outdoor or Indoor Recess?: Students will line up outside at arrival and enjoy outdoor recess when the temperature is 10 degrees Fahrenheit or above (including the windchill factor). We also continuously monitor the conditions of the blacktop and playground surfaces to ensure they are safe for students.
Dress Warmly: Please ensure your child is dressed for the weather every day with a warm coat, hat, and gloves.
Snow Play: Students are allowed to play in the snow if they are fully dressed in the required gear: snow boots, snow pants, winter coat, hat, and gloves. Without all these items, students must remain on the dry blacktop areas.
Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and comfortable outdoor experience for everyone!
Strong Like Kate Toy Drive
This holiday season, the DuJardin Student Council would like help in sharing the spirit of kindness and strength with children who need it most. We are honored to host the Strong Like Kate Toy Drive to benefit patients spending their holidays at Lurie Children’s Hospital.
For a child, being hospitalized during December is incredibly tough. Through this drive, we aim to bring comfort, cheer, and a much-needed sense of normalcy to these courageous kids and their families. Every single donation helps transform a sterile hospital room into a place of holiday magic.
How You Can Help:
We are collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys for children and teens of all ages.
Infant/Toddler: Musical toys, light-up toys, interactive play mats.
School-Age: LEGO sets, craft kits, coloring books, action figures, dolls.
Teens: Gift cards (for music, movies, or gaming), journals, fuzzy blankets, portable Bluetooth speakers, and art supplies.
Donation Details:
Please drop off your new, unwrapped gift in the collection box located in the lobby between December 1st and December 12th.
Thank you for demonstrating the strength and generosity that makes our community so special. Together, we can make this season brighter for a child facing a tough battle.

Message from Nurse Rosero
Required Health Forms for the upcoming school year:
- Kindergarten: Physical, Dental, & Vision
- 2nd Grade: Dental
- Health Office Website
Student Needs:
Please inform the nurse of any allergies or sensitivities to foods, medications, and environmental allergens. If there are any pertinent details of your students' health that you feel the nurse needs to know, please reach out and discuss this with the school nurse. This information can be helpful to better support your student throughout the day, if certain situations arise.
About Your Student’s Medication:
The district's medication administration policy mandates that all medication to be administered at school requires an MD order, this includes over-the-counter medications. Students may NOT keep over-the-counter meds in their backpacks or in their lockers--including cough drops, Advil, etc. This is an important safety concern! Please review the policy included in the registration process.
If your student requires an inhaler, Epi-Pen, or any oral medication, please obtain the medication form and appropriate health care plan from your physician when your child has their exam. Forms may also be obtained on the district website.
Excused Physical Education Class:
Please note that all PE excuses need to be sent to the Nurse's Office. A parent may excuse a student from PE for up to 3 days. (consecutively) Thereafter, a Doctor's note is required.
Calls home from the Nurse:
Phone calls home are warranted in the event of a head injury, minor or major
All in school sickness including fever of 100.4 (oral) or greater, vomiting and/or diarrhea
Please prepare to keep your child home until:
Fever-free for a full 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication.
Vomiting and diarrhea has ceased for a full 24 hours
Please refer to the General Health Guidelines which can be found on the district website
Send a note to school or email your students teacher and office if....

AR Reading Program
The Accelerated Reader (AR) program at DuJardin: Students in first-fifth grade can take AR tests on the books they read.
As students earn points, they can get rewards, including bookmarks, brag tags, and a chance to attend our special AR Night Out in January and the big End of Year Field Trip in May!
Mr. Pearlman will be going over the AR program during library with our First and Second grade students this coming week. Most books we have in the library are AR books and students can read the book and take a quiz to earn points. So, find a great book, get reading, and let's get those points!
Click here for more information about the AR program at DuJardin.
Please note: this is an optional reading incentive program.
