This year’s race has quite a few runners from the community. Course safety is top priority! Encourage your kiddo to take their time to get to the start line as it is “chip timed”. That means your kiddos timing will not begin until they cross the start line. So no need to rush to the start line, as the times are all connected to the bibs.
Below is some basic information for day of planning. Check out the course map below, it’s important to understand the course before you run it. Show it to your runner and they will have fun seeing what it looks like, and what it actually feels like when they run it.
Volunteers Still Needed
We’re still in search of volunteers to help make this race a fun and safe event.
Sign Up to be a Trick or Trot Volunteer here.

Parking
Street parking is plentiful in Camp Hill, but we have a LOT of runners! If you can walk or ride your bike to the start, please do so. If you need to drive, find a spot a couple of blocks away and then walk to the starting area. We are encouraging residents along the course to move their cars for the race, so please don’t park along the course. A few blocks will be entirely closed to traffic:
- 22nd St will be blocked off between Harvard and Dickinson.
- Dickinson will be blocked off between 22nd and 24th.
Awards
All kids under 18 will receive a participant medal as they cross the finish line (for both the 5k and the Monster Dash).
1st place male and female 5k runners in each of the following categories will receive a special medal attachment.
New age groups this year: Under 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12-14, 15-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over
The overall first place male and female finishers will receive a $50 gift card. The first place male and female 12 & under will also receive a $50 gift card.
The awards ceremony is expected to be held at about 9:20 a.m.
The Course
Runners are expected to be familiar with the course. All 5k turns will be marked with signage. Volunteers will also be positioned at each turn and at each significant intersection in order to direct runners and control car traffic. A cyclist will lead the fastest runners. Since there are many children registered for the race, there will also be adults running with the goal of keeping children safe and helping them finish. There are no portapotties along the course, but there will be a couple available near the start/finish line. There is one water station along the 5k course, near the halfway mark, at Chestnut St. and Pennsylvania Ave.The start/finish line is located on Dickinson near 22nd St and the entrance to Camp Hill United Methodist Church.
