Stay in the loop....
Week 1 Happenings
Welcome Back!
We have had an AMAZING first week of school. Students are moving and grooving with their teams and schedules. Teachers are working hard to build classroom communities where all students belong. Ms. Johnston's class is establishing their restorative circle expectations. Mr. Deck and Ms. Levea's tech students worked together to problem-solve. Seventh graders used cardstock, scissors and 24" of masking tape to try to build the tallest tower. The winning towers were 44 1/2" and 50"! Eighth graders had the chance to build towers with just cardstock and scissors, the winner's tower spanned over 30 inches!
Students in each grade level were presented with a Student Expectation assembly from Dr. Pray and Mrs. Miranto. During this assembly, we reviewed being kind, respectful, responsible and working hard. Students learned about our cell phone policy and cafeteria expectations. We also talked about what it means to be a good digital citizen and an Upstander vs. Bystander. Please read the attachment and review our Middle School Expectations with your child to help reinforce positive behavior.
September is an important month to establish routines and a strong home-school connection for a successful school year. Parents/Guardians please be sure to sign up for Schoology and Parent Portal as they are the way you will stay connected to your child(s) academics. Schoology is used as a platform for assignments, but Parent Portal is where you can access student grades, including their report card. We have provided links if you need to sign-up.
