Winnebago: Blue Ribbon Winner

MSD15 Families and Community,

We are proud to announce that Winnebago Elementary School has been named a 2026 Governor’s Blue Ribbon School! This prestigious recognition celebrates schools across Illinois for outstanding academic achievement.

Winnebago earned this honor for its exceptional progress in closing achievement gaps and helping all students succeed, demonstrating the power of high expectations, strong instruction, and individualized student support.

This achievement is a testament to the hard work of Winnebago’s students, teachers, staff, and school leaders, Principal Mr. Battaglia and Assistant Principal Ms. Petersen. Their dedication, along with the support of our families and the district’s commitment to student success, has made this recognition possible.

This is a proud moment for Winnebago and all of Marquardt School District 15. It reflects our shared commitment to providing every student with the opportunities and support they need to thrive.

Please join me in congratulating the entire Winnebago school community on this outstanding accomplishment!

With pride and gratitude,

Ms. Lucilla Davila
Marquardt School District 15 Superintendent
