The Westwood Elementary Handbook
We are excited to be able to provide you our updated handbook for student behaviors and our school policies. Please take some time to review it with your child as it details our school's core values of RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and SAFE. Additionally, it includes information about how we strive to acknowledge students when they meet our expectations as well as how we address classroom and school discipline when they do not.
Click here to view the Handbook on the Westwood website: Westwood School Policies
Finally, there are a number of school policies worth noting and checking out so that you are aware of how we support your student(s) and keep them safe.
These include:
- Westwood Cell Phone Policy
- Chromebook Policy
- Social Media Policy
- Schoolwide Activities and Student Discipline Policy
- Hat/Hood Policy
- Footwear for Physical Activity and Physical Education Policy
- Food for School Functions Policy

Picking Up and Dropping Off Students
As a safety reminder, when picking up or dropping off your student, please use our drop-off loop (the staff parking lot is not for student drop-off) and pull as far forward as possible when in line with your vehicle. This supports a smooth drop-off and pick-up process.
🚗 Parents should stay in their vehicles and pull up to the student drop-off zone during this time. Please do not leave a vehicle unattended in the drop-off loop at any time. If you need help, wave down a staff member and we will be happy to assist you. Thank you for doing your part to keep our students safe.
Additionally, please be sure that your students have the proper car seats, booster seats, or seatbelts as required by California State Law. Let us know if you need help or resources to keep your student safe. 💺✅
News from the Lodi Unified School District
Be Present Initiative
BE PRESENT: Phones down, heads up. Lodi USD is committed to creating connections in the classroom. Starting this school year, students will be expected to keep their phones turned off during the school day - including lunches, breaks, and passing periods - as part of the district-wide initiative to Be Present. This initiative is designed to support a more focused learning environment while encouraging real, in-person connection outside of the digital world.
Please talk with your student(s) about this new initiative and the positive benefits associated with disconnecting during the school day. We believe that this initiative, over time, will support a more focused learning environment and encourage student connection outside of the digital world. You can find more information on the policy, the benefits, and frequently asked questions here.
Complete Online Data Confirmation / Complete la Confirmación
Online data confirmation is now open in Aeries! Once completed, you’ll be able to log in to Aeries starting July 18, 2025, to view your child’s class schedule (grades 7–12) or teacher assignment (TK–6).
This process is also how we collect updated contact information, which is essential to keep your child safe in case of an emergency.
✅ Please make sure to complete the income information page—even if you think it doesn’t apply to you. It helps our schools receive additional funding to support students.
📞 Questions? Call your child’s school—we’re happy to help!
