A Note from the Principal
October is an exciting month at Huntsville Elementary as we focus on building strong character, making positive choices, and creating a school where every student feels safe, valued, and supported. October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and our character trait is Self-Direction—helping students learn to take responsibility for their actions, make good decisions, and stay focused on their goals. These important lessons connect directly to our HES Three Bs: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible.
Later this month, we will celebrate Red Ribbon Week, another opportunity to encourage healthy choices and positive habits. We invite you to continue these conversations at home by talking with your child about kindness, respect, responsibility, and standing up for others. At HES, we believe student success goes beyond academics. By working together, we can help our Hornets develop the character, confidence, and perseverance they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to help every Hornet shine with success! N Barrett, HES Principal
We Build Champions: Every Student, Every Day!🎃
Every Minute Matters at HES! ⏰🌟
Success starts with showing up! Every school day is filled with valuable learning opportunities, and arriving on time helps students start their day focused and ready to learn. Regular attendance builds responsibility, strengthens academic skills, and teaches students that consistent effort leads to success. Frequent early checkouts also mean missed instruction, so we encourage families to keep students at school until dismissal whenever possible. Help your Hornet shine by making being at school, on time, and staying all day a priority. Every day counts, every minute matters, and every Hornet can succeed!
📚 Bluebonnet Learning: Growing Strong Readers & Thinkers!
At HES, our Kindergarten–5th grade students are learning through Bluebonnet Learning, a high-quality, TEKS-aligned curriculum for Reading Language Arts (RLA) and Math. This curriculum challenges students to think critically, solve problems, build strong foundational skills, and develop the confidence to tackle challenging learning. We encourage families to explore what their children are learning and find ways to reinforce these skills at home. Together, we are building a strong foundation for academic success!
