Happy Sunday CELC families! I hope you have a wonderful and restful fall break. I am looking forward to spending some quality time with my family. The teachers enjoyed meeting with each of you to discuss your child's progress. Thank you for your partnership in their education. It is more critical now, more than ever. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Please review the updates and reminders below to help keep you informed about what is happening on campus and in the district:

• Exciting news- air filtration systems were installed on Monday, November 16.

• There will not be grab and go meals served during the fall break. We will resume this service when we return.
• Please report all absences to the office. We are required to trace all absences. Illnesses may require a 10-14 day stay at home. All students that are out for any reason will be temporarily assigned to distance learning. They can receive credit for their time off campus if they complete work online.
• Every Monday is College Spirit Day. Wear your favorite college shirt!
• Join us for VIRTUAL FUN FRIDAYS. This Friday, November 27, is " Holiday Spirit Day" Share a picture of your favorite holiday memory on social media using #virtualfunfriday
• The district is still providing free wifi access at CELC, SHES, JMMS, and BOES. Just park in the lot and log in. The wifi name is AlpineUnited and no password is needed.
  
• The district has tech support available to parents. Please email helpdesk@alpineschools.net with your technology questions.
• Picture Day has been scheduled! See flyer below.
• EAK registration is open! We still have a few spots available. Please help spread the word!
• The Superintendent announced at the November board meeting that he has moved EAK's start date to January 19, 2021 to align with our Phase 3 Opening.
• Our Dual Language Fee-based Preschool Program is scheduled to re-open on January 19, 2021.
• AUSD is hiring. Please check out https://www.edjoin.org/alpineschools for job postings. Also see the flyer below regarding our increase in pay for substitute teachers. This increase will be effective during Phase 3 of our Reopening Plan.
• Do you know a CELC family who might appreciate a little Christmas cheer? If you or someone you know in the district is in need this Christmas season, please contact the office.

We are looking forward to a week of relaxation and family. I will see you all on Monday, November 30 when we return from our fall break.

Each year schools are required to complete and submit information to determine how much Federal Impact Aid funding they will receive. The amount of Federal Impact Aid Alpine Union receives is determined by the actual number of our students whose parents are employed by the Federal Government, are active military, or are living or working on property owned by the Federal Government or living or working on property owned by a Native American Tribal Government. To qualify for funding, we need a completed survey form for every student attending our District. Please take a moment to complete the survey by December 1, 2020.

Please note the change in the start date. The district has moved the start date to January 19, 2021 to align with our Phase 3 Reopening Plan. CELC will be hosting a Parent Information Night in December.

Our next COVID-19 and flu shot drive through will be on Wednesday, December 2 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at JMMS. This is free for anyone!
