Tired of all the emails?
Did you know you can customize the email notifications you receive from Canvas? Rather than getting an email every time an assignment opens, a teacher grades work, or there is activity on your student’s account, you can choose how often you are notified.
You may turn notifications off, receive one daily summary email, or receive a weekly summary instead of multiple individual messages. To adjust these settings, go to the Canvas navigation menu and select Account → Notifications.

October Learning Coach Webinar
As part of our theme LEARNING HAPPENS HERE, we are kicking off our Learning Coach Webinar Series on October 6th at 4pm to 4:30pm. October is "Apply Missouri" month- where we focus on helping students think about the other side of the stage. Whether their plans are a 4-year college, 2-year college, vocational training, military, or straight into the workforce, we want them to be ready when they graduate from MODA High School!
During this webinar, we will discuss:
What Apply Missouri Month is and why it matters.
Postsecondary options, including universities, community colleges, technical schools, and certificate programs.
What students should be doing in grades 9–12 to prepare for their future.
How Learning Coaches can help students research schools, understand application requirements, and stay on track.
Resources available to help families navigate the process.
You don't need to have all the answers about your student's future. Come learn how to help them explore their options and take their next step!

Credit Recovery Courses Explained
Is your student in a Credit Recovery (CR) class? If so, please review the following information about how these classes work:
Credit Recovery courses are asynchronous, meaning students will work at their own pace.
• Although this course is self-paced, there will be a few check-in dates. If the student is not current with the schedule, they will get a warning and a deadline. If they miss this deadline, you will not be able to continue in this course.
• All students start with an F, as you complete checkpoints and tests, their grade will be updated based on the points they earned.
• Students must take ALL checkpoint pre-tests first. This will then unlock any content that you need before taking each unit test.
•What Happens After the Checkpoints:
o If the student scores below a C on the checkpoint quiz: The student will need to review the course content before taking the unit test.
o If the student scores a C or higher: The student will be able to skip the review and directly take the unit test.
