Happy Monday, Monfort Families! π
Thank you to all of our Monfort families who attended parent teacher conferences last week! We truly appreciate your partnership and support as we work together to help our students succeed.
Just a friendly reminder that there will be no school on Wednesday, October 21, as our teachers will be participating in professional development. This is a valuable opportunity for our staff to continue learning and growing so we can provide the best possible education for our Monfort Knights! π
Have a wonderful week, Knights! π
Warmly,
Debbie Nawrocki
Monfort Principal
πΈ The Great Mr. Toad Disguise! π
Our third graders have been enjoying The Wind in the Willows as part of their CKLA curriculum! In the story, mischievous Mr. Toad finds himself in jail and escapes by disguising himself as a washerwoman. Our creative third graders were challenged to come up with their own clever disguises to help Mr. Toad escape! From silly to sneaky, their imaginations really came to life! Check out these fantastic disguises! πΈ

Please join us for our next PTO meeting on November 11, at 7pm in the Media Center
TRUNK OR TREAT
Our Annual Trunk or Treat event will be held on Friday, October 30th 5:30-7pm! We're excited to bring our school community together for an evening of Halloween fun! We have lots of exciting activities planned for our families and look forward to seeing you there!
All students must register online to attend this event. Order tickets online by Wednesday, October 21st at https://monfortvolunteers.membershiptoolkit.com/open_forms
Weβre looking for Monfort families to join the excitement by decorating their trunks and handing out candy to our trick-or-treaters! Your participation will help make this a fun and memorable event for our Knights. There is no charge to host a trunk spot, but all trunk hosts are required to provide candy for our trick-or-treaters.
Get creative and show off your Halloween spirit! Weβll be awarding prizes to two trunks with the best decorations!

Raptor System- Volunteers
Volunteer applications need to be renewed annually. If the volunteer application was submitted in November, a new application does not need to be renewed until November (one calendar year). Raptor will automatically send a renewal application when the current volunteer approval is approaching its expiration date.
We are asking for your support to help keep our students safe.
All visitors to the classroom areas of our school are now being asked to swipe their driverβs license or government issued ID before entering the main part of our building. This swipe will quickly provide an updated check against national sex offender registries. This process is for anyone who is going past our school office for any reason.
If you are planning to volunteer in our classrooms or work directly with a student, you will need to have a volunteer background form on file. The form is located at this link. The background check involves multiple state and federal law enforcement data bases.
We greatly appreciate the involvement of our families and the difference you make at Monfort. Thank you for your partnership with this extra step that will improve safety in our school.
Download Raptor Safe App
It is strongly recommended parents/guardians download the Raptor Safe app in order to create a visitor profile. The Raptor Safe app offers a convenient and secure way for visitors to manage and verify their identify before arriving at school. This profile provides a Raptor Passport which can be used to quickly and easily check in at the school office via the app.
Attendance
On the day of an absence, parent/guardian are asked to report an absence before the school day begins. Calls may be made 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will be received by an answering machine during non-school hours at 586-797-5799. Absences may also be reported by email at officemonfort@uticak12.org. Please do not call the main line, use the absence line or report by email. Documentation or other verification may be required to establish an excused absence. Please review the Board Policy 5115 below for more information regarding student attendance.
βοΈ Planning a Vacation? Families may request up to 10 days of pre-approved vacation time by emailing Mrs. Nawrocki. Anything beyond 10 days will be marked as unexcused, and students may be dropped from enrollment if more than 10 unexcused days occur.
BREAKFAST
Breakfast is served from 8:45-9:05 am. If your child is eating breakfast, please be sure they arrive between 8:45 and 9:05 am.
Breakfast counts are taken the day before.
Lunch counts are taken the morning that lunch is served.
