Hello TVUSD Families!

I hope you and your family are enjoying a wonderful summer! It was such a joy to see so many of our students and families at the City of Temecula Fourth of July Parade. Thank you for helping make it a memorable celebration, and I hope you enjoyed a fun and safe holiday weekend.

As we reach the halfway point of summer, there's still plenty of time to relax, make memories, and enjoy everything this season has to offer. Before we know it, though, the excitement of a new school year will be here! As you begin preparing for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 12th, be sure to check your email and follow TVUSD on social media for important updates, reminders, and back-to-school information throughout the summer.

We'd also love your feedback on our Community Connection newsletter as you prepare for the 2026-27 school year. Our goal is to make it as helpful, informative, and engaging as possible for our families. If you have a minute, please complete the short survey linked below and share your thoughts. Your feedback will help guide future editions of the newsletter, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

TVUSD was honored to participate in the City of Temecula's annual Fourth of July Parade for the very first time as the community celebrated the 250th anniversary of America's Independence. The parade brought together residents, local organizations, schools, and businesses to celebrate community, tradition, and hometown pride in the heart of Old Town Temecula.

To represent our district, principals from every school level invited outstanding students and their families to take part in this special celebration. Participants proudly rode aboard a TVUSD school bus decorated with patriotic banners and American flags, creating a memorable display of school pride. Positioned directly behind the award-winning Great Oak High School Band in the parade lineup, our students enjoyed an unforgettable experience as they waved to spectators and celebrated alongside the Temecula community.

It was a privilege to represent TVUSD during this historic community event and to celebrate the students who make our district such a special place. Thank you to the City of Temecula for including us in this milestone celebration, and to our students and families for proudly representing TVUSD on Independence Day.

2026 NVES Groundbreaking

🚜 Summer may be a break for students, but it's one of the busiest seasons for campus improvements across TVUSD!

Earlier this year, we celebrated the groundbreaking of an exciting new addition at Nicolas Valley Elementary School. The project will include a multipurpose room, 10 new classrooms, and an outdoor learning space designed to support engaging, collaborative learning experiences.

As construction continues this summer, we're excited to watch this vision come to life and create even more opportunities for current and future NVES students.

The City of Temecula Community Services Department, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to once again offer the Summer Food Service Program, providing free nutritious meals to children throughout the summer months. The program is designed to help ensure youth continue to have access to healthy meals while school is out of session.

Beginning June 22, 2026, through August 7, 2026, free meals will be available weekdays at the Margarita Recreation Center (29119 Margarita Road) for all children ages 18 and younger, as well as individuals of all ages with disabilities. Meals will be served Monday - Friday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, or until meals are gone.

In addition to providing nutritious food, the Summer Food Service Program supports the health, well-being, and development of local youth by encouraging social interaction and participation in a positive community environment. By helping meet children's nutritional needs during the summer months, the program plays an important role in preparing students to return to school healthy, engaged, and ready to learn.

Meals are available at no cost and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. A parent or guardian must accompany participating children, and meals must be consumed onsite.

For more information about the Summer Food Service Program, call 951-694-6480 ext. 4160. Stay connected with the latest programs, events, and activities from Temecula's Community Services Department by following @TemeculaParksAndRec on social media or by visiting TemeculaCA.gov/TCSD.
