September 1st marks the start of Attendance Awareness Month! This is a time to focus on the importance of attending school daily. CVUSD acknowledges that good attendance matters, and improving attendance and reducing chronic absenteeism takes commitment and collaboration.
The theme for the 2025 Attendance Awareness Month is "Here Today, Ready for Tomorrow!" This theme emphasizes the link between school attendance and achieving future goals and dreams, and encourages a focus on the importance of every school day for learning, building relationships, and accessing support.
Please join the Conejo Valley Unified School District in raising awareness about the impact of attendance on student success. Click here to learn more.
π₯ͺ Important Reminder: School meals are available at NO COST for all students.
During this session, parents will explore practical ways to create a positive learning environment at home, understand key academic expectations, and foster strong communication with teachers and school staff. The workshop will also provide tips on study habits, time management, and accessing school resources.
Hosted by the CVUSD's BreakThrough Student Assistance Program and The Conejo Schools Foundation with presenters: Dr. Dena Sellers, Director of Elementary Education; Shane Frank, Director of Middle School Education; and Nicole Judd, Director of High School Education. This event will empower parents to be confident partners in their childβs educational journey.
We're hiring for a variety of full-time, part-time and long-term substitute Paraeducator positions! Our award-winning schools have openings for this important role that supports students with disabilities.
Join us for a Walk-In Interview opportunity available on Wednesday, September 10th and Wednesday, September 17th from 2:30pm-4:30pm at our District Educational Center located at 1400 E. Janss Road in Thousand Oaks.

What is the CAC?
The Community Advisory Committee or CAC is an advisory body to the SELPA made up of parent representatives from each district and agency representatives.
Did You See Us on the Big Screen this Summer? Newbury Park HS in Freakier Friday
Did you catch us on the big screen this summer? Our Newbury Park High School transformed into Sunset Ridge High for the Freaky Friday sequel released last month. Our Panthers' quad, classrooms, stadium and more were home of the Dolphins in the movie blockbuster.
The funds earned from outside entities filming on our CVUSD campuses are placed into what the District calls "deferred maintenance" to use/reinvest back into the CVUSD's campus facilities.
