Traffic Around District 41 Schools - Safety Reminders

Congestion around our landlocked schools combined with narrow streets in Glen Ellyn can be a challenge and impacts the safety of students coming to and from school. District 41 continues to partner with the Glen Ellyn Police Department and parents on safety matters. As always, the Glen Ellyn Police Department will be present at schools as often as possible during drop off and pick up times. Here are a few reminders for parents and kids related to safety:

  • Remember that there is a Village of Glen Ellyn ordinance that requires vehicles not to be parked within 30 feet of a stop sign or within 20 feet of a crosswalk.

  • Discharge students on the passenger side of your vehicles instead of on the active roadway drivers side

  • Watch carefully for students riding bikes and scooters to and from school

  • Remind students to follow the rules of the road and be aware of vehicles on the roadways when riding their bikes and scooters

Thank you for partnering with us to keep kids safe in our community.

Congratulations to the Hadley Jazz Ensemble on their performance at the Old Quarry Jazz Festival. The students received not only wonderful feedback from the judges, but also a recording and commemorative plaque. Be sure to catch the band at their next performance at the 6th grade pops concert on Thursday, February 27th. Congratulations to the Hadley Jazz Ensemble!
