News and Notes
We are excited to welcome families to our annual Open House on Tuesday, 9/14, from 6:00-7:30 pm. There will be a presentation in the Gym by Mrs. Humm, Principal, and Mrs. Purham, Assistant Principal at 6:00 and 6:45 pm. After each session, we will release families to the classrooms for teacher presentations at 6:20 and 7:05 pm. We can't wait to share all about our Hornet routines, procedures, and focus for curricular areas for each grade!
Did you know that September is National School Attendance Awareness Month? We know it's critical for scholars to be in school each day for learning when healthy. We will be sharing attendance tips, celebrating high attendance rates per class, and also sending letters home about the importance of school. Please see the information below from Attendance Works and the National Association of School Nurses.
We had a blast cheering on the runners of the Flossmoor Hidden Gem Half Marathon on Saturday. Heather Hill had a water station set-up for mile 7. Thank you to all of the volunteers that came out for this special community event!
The HH PTO is hosting its first fundraiser of the year: Poppin' Popcorn. Please see the flyers below!
